Why does Bryce get the blame?

Just curious some posters think the loss falls on him.

He had a 96 Qb rating and PFF has him rated with the second highest offensive grade just behind Coker.

Production wise, the offense had 14 first downs. Dowdle had 16 carries getting a single first down. His long run was 8 yards. If you take out that one run, he averaged 2.6 yds/carry over the remaining 15. Hubbard got 3 first downs with 8 carries. Bryce had 10 first downs either through the air or with his legs. yet he gets the blame for the loss.

Even with a 96 QB rating, being rated with the second best pff score and him accounting for over 70% of all the first downs, I keep seeing people argue he was the reason they lost.

Curious.

Most of the comments I've seen have been very scathingly critical of Canales in game management and decisions. Evero and multiple key defenders have gotten a ton of smoke too.

As far as Bryce goes I think it depends on the viewer. Some people were all about giving him credit for game winning drives even when he basically did little or nothing but still received the credit. Now the same people want to cry foul when Bryce is expected to as a third year QB and a first overall pick not lose to a rookie 2nd round pick 8 games into his career. Well I'm sorry it just doesn't work that way. He's the face of the franchise. He's the third highest paid player on the team this year. The team goes as the QB goes.

Aside from the late sack he was kept relatively clean throughout the bulk of the game even with the injuries we've had along the OL. Shough on the other hand was harassed throughout the game and he still completed passes into tight windows throughout the game. Bryce on the other hand while he is receiving a positive grade for his scrambling saw fit to bail on the pocket throughout the game. Some of those were justified others were not and resulted in missed opportunities.

Then there is the elephant in the room that even Dave Canales himself even uttered the quiet part out loud about. That is the fact that in short yardage situations we cannot under any circumstances use our #1 pick on a QB sneak. Which let's just keep it 100 here. If this were any other team everyone here including the loudest Bryce defenders would be laughing their asses off. All of this encompasses a singular conclusion that no matter how much people may like Bryce Young the person ultimately he does not appear to be a QB that we can compete for and win in the playoffs with. It isn't hating or any other ridiculous label to acknowledge this reality. It's just life.

after 3 years of this you are still making excuses? Goddamn people

If you think he is a NFL qb then great, thats on you, but there is now 40ish plus games telling us a different story.  Nobody that I have seen has blamed him for the loss, but it was just another "meh" game from him and lol at PFF.

I simply asked about this one game. What was it about this game that makes you believe the loss was his fault.

It’s simple. We all saw with our own eyes.

The best QB on the field Sunday was a 2nd round rookie in his 6th NFL start….and that QB is on a worse team.

and Bryce was the #1 overall pick, is now in his 3rd season….and again, in both matchups the Saints QB was the best QB on the field.

We have a QB problem

I'll ask you like I asked mrcompletely11, what was it about this game that makes you believe the loss was his fault.

I keep asking but no one has given me a specific reason yet. Just a simple question.

who the fug said it was his fault?   Goddamn man dont create mythical narratives to try and boost him up.  He had a meh game.  You cant deny that.  But it was a team loss and we will never know if the game plan was a result of what DC thinks of Bryce but his words and actions kindof hint to it

    • Build the best roster we can and if Bryce continues to be a weak link continue building that roster by replacing him. Bringing Pickett was a real disappointment. Felt like we gave him $7.5M just so that we could pretend he's a quality backup. Well, he must be since we're paying him like one.
    • Well if we are being realistic doesn't what you just lined out already tell us where we are at? If the rookie UDFA kicker was the savior more often than not and we had a bottom 5 offense despite us having a #1 pick behind center who was billed predraft as a mini Payton Manning is that just going to magically change trajectory overnight with a tougher schedule added in? If we are going to repeat as division champions then it will be with the defense doing the heavy lifting. So keep adding to it.
    • Everyone keeps arguing all these teams have great TE's that made them successful. THATS BS! What makes those teams great is QB play and we don't have that. So again even getting a NON-INLINE TE who can run a fast 40 time isnt going to get us anywhere without competent QB play consistently. Which we don't have by a long shot. So honestly all these great teams have a TE argument doesnt hold water to me.  Mahomes would be nasty without Kelce, Lamar would blow you away without Andrews, does it help? of course any weapon will help but only if you have someone making those correct reads week to week. When we have that then I'd be all in on a game breaking TE but unfortunately we are stuck with one of the most inconsistent starting QB's currently in the NFL.  Not to mention all the TE's mentioned are COMPLETE TE's not just a receiving threat with drop issues which Sadiq does. Argue all you want but nothing will change that fact other than getting a consistent QB week to week in a Panthers uniform which doesnt seem to be happing anytime soon.
