He had a great game…no need to anoint him the next Joe Montana

He had a great season.  That doesn't mean he will be an NFL caliber qb but you can't doubt his ability to extend plays with his feet and find open receivers on the run when the plays break down. The one read, quick release college qb label is fair but you can't discount what he does when the play breaks down.  He would need a lot of development as a pocket passer.  You draft someone like him when you have your starter who is getting older.

Another bust Lane Kiffin QB. If it wasn't for the Ferris St. stuff. I wouldn't touch Trinidad with a 10 foot pole because of all the bad Lane Kiffin QB's.

Is this a thing? I know he runs a college offense but how many have even been drafted high enough to bust? The only high pick QB I can think of from him is Dart who looks decent but it’s way too early?

I’ve liked him since he took over for the other guy, but really watching him tonight against top-tier comp and the throws he’s making…  mid rounder?  Sign me up.

He's trying to get a waiver to join up with Kiffin at LSU.

Kiffin's best QB to date has been Matt Barkley. Likely Dart will be a flop too, TBH(my prediction).

Kiffin's offense is basically an Air Raid variant, which doesn't usually translate well to the NFL. Additionally, a lot of the line adjustments tend to be done by the sideline and relayed to the QB. So, you are generally going to get QB's that are stunted in certain areas.

Kiffin's track record for producing NFL QB's is very bad.

I think damn near every coach has a bad record for producing QBs because so few QBs are successful. Drake Maye looks legit, how was UNC before with Mack Brown? Howell hasn’t done anything, I don’t know if he was responsible for Mitch or if he came afterwards but that was a bust. Air Raid Texas Tech produced Mahomes and not much else. Allen was out in Wyoming, Burrow is the only LSU one and he was coach O, Lamar was Louisville with no one else. Riley might be the only coach with a defect track record with Hurts, Murray, Baker, and now Caleb. It’s why you draft the player not the school/coach.

The difference is Kiffin's rep as a "QB tutor" which has not been very successful at the NFL level. Also, the limitations I stated do have a stunting impact.

If I were advising an elite QB with a potential professional future, I'd definitely steer clear of Lane Kiffin offenses. There are ample coaches/programs that have a pretty good track record for sending quality QB's to the NFL.

He is a college QB tutor. As you stated he has produced much in the NFL.

I think that would be fine for him if he was still at FAU but being at elite schools you expect(especially in the modern day) that part of the draw of elite programs is NFL preparation. That's where he fails fairly consistently.

Especially when you compare him to someone like Lincoln Riley who has a long track record of producing NFL QB's.

That’s fair. He needs some guys to succeed at the next level to help with recruiting no doubt. It doesn’t seem to slow down OSU or Bama though.
