Does anyone else need any more evidence games are managed by the NFL towards certain outcomes?

I dunno man if they're this bad at their job, it feels deliberate. The stuff they called or didn't call this game was wild.

I don't believe it's a massive conspiracy but it sure seems like something is up.

Nah, being an NFL ref is one of those jobs that they're not risking to make a few bucks on the side.  They work 18 weeks a year to make a few hundred grand while hob nobbing it up with NFL players.

It's also a really hard job

Not that I'm making excuses for them, but you have to remember the speed at which the game is played and sometimes a body is just in the way of their line of sight to make the correct call.

Sometimes it's worse than others when they get it wrong, but in no way do I think it's anything remotely close to rigged or scripted.  The NBA scandal years ago made way more sense as it's a sport where one ref really can alter a game in a significant way on purpose.

If you watch the replay there was a ref who watched Tremble get his helmet ripped off. It was not called on purpose. Missing obvious penalties is how the NFL manages outcomes.

There will always be people that won’t admit their pastime is rigged.  They just can’t.   I understand it though it would shake them to their core.  But when you realize a head ref overrules everyone and that bad refs never get replaced I mean come on.   Also reply assistant is nonexistent for some terrible calls but randomly shows up late in the game to adjust a random play.   Come on lol.   This timeline is crazy.  Society living with their heads in the sand.  It was so bad today even the announcers couldn’t bite their tongue and be company men.

Yes, that non call was really bad, but unless there is a smoking gun someday showing a specific ref having wagerd on a game where they made a particularly bad call, I'll never be convinced that the league or refs are trying to determine who wins or loses games.

Hell, I think there is a stronger argument to make that if the league were to try and dictate this game, they'd have wanted us to win so the division wasn't won by a team with a losing record and decided because of an outcome the next day amongst two teams who are both already eliminated from the playoffs.

Na refs aren’t betting.   The head ref is just getting instructions from someone to push games one way or the other.   It’s not coincidence that the more betting gets normalized the worse the refs get.  The rules get more and more muddied for a reason instead of cleared up.  Why ?  And the NFL doesn’t want us to win anything.  We have zero ratings.  Baker is a name and they want him in plus the game tomorrow.   The NFL has a perfect setup where many of their fans’ life’s are so based on football they could never admit it.

AI analysis has made how the NFL operates very obvious. Any random fan can use it to analyze all the games and show how blatant the NFL is in how they manage the games to drive maximum user engagement to consume as much marketing media as possible, and controlling and sometimes swinging outcomes with the officiating to appease Vegas and the betting apps. There are millions of dollars exchanged per game on ad revenue and betting, and anyone who thinks the NFL is leaving that all to chance probably has an IQ under 90

Tim Donaghy would like to have a word with you. Guy literally told all of us how ever many years ago that over half of NBA refs are betting on games they ref and guess what the NBA did... Absolutely nothing.

I promise you refs are betting on games they ref in just about every sport.

I mean maybe so but I feel the refs are also following orders.   That’s why bad refs are still around and rules get more muddied each year.

I think you're underestimating how easily a ref can ensure a game ends up one way or the other in the NFL, it's not the NBA where a ref calls a foul and it's always a foul no matter what, in the NFL they can get overruled by other refs.

You'd have to be pretty dumb to be an NFL ref and put a substantial amount of money on the outcome of your game and hoping/expecting to be able to dictate the result.

Not to mention that most NFL refs are usually lawyers or something else similar to where they already make a really good living on top of their good NFL ref salary as well.

MVP Clete Blakeman would disagree with you. IMG_6643.thumb.jpeg.a0b83856ea3e9edbd0f9fcd23493b726.jpeg
