Bryce’s ceiling is replacement level.  I don’t know why it’s so hard for some to see.

Yeah but if we just get him an OL, RBs, more WRs, TEs and a defense, he can be really good, just give him another year.

Chicken or the egg. The assignment is, MAKE them respect you and make them defend the whole field.
They are telling you they don’t think you can do that. You have to force them to change.
Our offense with Young is unable to do that. Just the way it is. Unless/until the passing game can extract payment, it will stay that way.

Yes Young and most QBs need more than 19 rushing yards. Last week he poo the bed, this week our running game poo the bed. We have a lot of work as a team as a whole to work on. Can you point me to an average QB who won by playing better than Young did today while his team ran for under 20 yards?

This is simple. You get get more rushing yards by threatening people with passing the ball.
If a team is so good that you can’t pass either, tip your hat.  Bryce be tipping that hat an awful lot.

My mistake. I assumed that defenses wouldn’t respect the deep passing game enough to commit significant resources to defending against it.

Yeah if you can play 2 high and shut down our running game we are going to struggle. Saints did that both times. We don’t have the talent to adjust to that.

Yeah our passing offense put up 250 yards and 2 TDs with absolutely no help from the running game. To me they did their part. There were a couple 3rd down drops as well which could fall on the QB but again this isn’t really the game to throw him under the bus. Last week was one 1000%. Bryce did enough to beat Tampa just like last time today. If we want to be elite defenses like Seattle then yeah we need to reevaluate our QB, play calling, OL, and weapons.

I mean, I can give you a tip.  Trying to run with Mr Scot’s whack bologna ways ain’t the way bruh.  But you seem to be pretty invested given you keep stealing him lines as yours lol.

Funny that you would mention Mr. Scot. Are you the one that banned him for no reason?

Is that why you’re giving him a tip?

I am not going on one game. It isn’t this *one*. We are at the end of the third season of trying to make this guy a viable cornerstone moving forward. I say it has failed.

Have I been rooting for it to fail? Somewhat. Because I had no belief from the jump. But was forced to accept three years as an evaluation period. And there isn’t enough there, still, to turn me around. Sorry.

Could I have been transformed into a supporter? It would take actual really good results. What we were presented with fell short.

Yeah him not being the guy is a logical stance to take in a debate. I have no problem with that. Blaming him for this loss immediately when he was the lesser of many other issues is all I was debating.

He had an 8 figure reason not to.

Hmm. poo coach, doesn't want to do his job because he didn't get his way, not enough balls to stand up for himself, refuses to try.

Huddle: Bryce Young's fault

I think there is a lot of stuff blended into the reaction. The game itself and what it meant, surely.
For me, it is the closure of third year of this ill fated experiment trying to prove a historically inferior player profile could defy the odds.
I never believed it could. It hasn’t, so far.

How fuging far are we expected to take this?

    • Didn't  see this posted (since 2023) but since folks have been posting that you can't judge a draft class for three years (a ridiculous take), I thought I'd post this to see what people thought about the 2023 draft. Unfortunately this may not be the most interesting class to do this with but I do quite like retrospective draft grades. Would appreciate other's takes on this (and other recent) draft classes.   1(1) - Bryce Young QB: I am a bigger Bryce Young apologist than most (maybe all). I like the kid. But there is no way around it: This was a terrible pick. If he had been picked in the 4th or even the 3rd round I would feel pretty good about it. But this was the first overall pick that we gave up two firsts, our best offensive player to get.  GRADE: C -    2(39) - Jonathan Mingo WR: not much to say here here. He was here for two years. His yards per catch are on par with Bryce's yards per pass. Rough stuff. To date he has still never scored a touchdown in the NFL GRADE: F   3(80) - DJ Johnson OLB: a pick I hated as soon as it happened and an example of why the premise of this thread is honestly dumb. This was a bad pick when it happened. Most people knew it.  Then came training camp and he did not look good. Then came the preseason which confirmed what we saw in TC. Then came the season which confirmed what we saw in preseason. To date, he has half a sack in his career. GRADE: F 4 (114) Chandlers Zavala G: Honestly the best pick of this draft which really speaks to how awful this draft is. Other than Bryce, the only pick still on the team. He is mostly average or below average depth which in round 4 is not terrible. But he had a pff score of 43.5 and though I think people have unrealistic expectations for draft picks, I still would want a little more from a fourth round pick GRADE: C+   5 (145) - Jammie Robinson S: I liked the pick when it happened but ended up being a disappointment. He logged 1 tackle with the falcons last year and not enough snaps to get a grade on PFF.  GRADE: F OVERALL DRAFT GRADE: F
    • You gonna make me post Stank before every game?  I kid, I kid.
