Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panthers History

Cam Newton had close to 4K yards and 30 TDs on a very efficient offense.

these two things are nothing alike in terms of 2025 and 2013.  Which is why the guy at the top was a Pro Bowler in 2013

Exactly. Like what are we even saying here? Cam on this same team would have us in the superbowl. Imagine Cam with a legit #1 AND #2 WR in Tet and Coker, AND a legit o-line. This MF had Nate Chandler and Byron Bell guarding his entire right side lmfao

This is insane - leave it to Panthers fans to ignore rushing production from a QB...

I don't see how anyone that watched Panthers football in the past 3 years could argue for Bryce young.  It's been terrible.  We had more offense under Teddy 2 gloves.

Are they really impressed by that playoff performance?

I was hugely impressed by his playoff performance and I hope he can come out and play every game with that level next season.

But I'm skeptical of that, heh.

Regardless of that, it's just ridiculous to try to compare him this year to Cam in his first 3 seasons (or ever).

OVERRATED

Ah yes he had a bad game, (see, I can admit a player I said was good has a bad game it happens) let’s go back and look at all of Bryce’s bad games, I don’t think anyone actually has time for that because there are so many.  Let’s forget the fact the announcers said he was the most sacked and pressured qb this year. How about all those high draft picks you always were referring too, they didn’t play in that game did they, especially his high draft pick tackles? How about the first round RB, how many carries did he get?

Patriots beat the brakes off the panthers this year, Bryce had similar stats, is he overrated? If you put Bryce on the chargers this year, how would they do? (Don’t answer those I know what you are going to say)

Which qb would you rather have based off of the pictures I’ve provided?

Put Bryce on the Chargers with the 6th best defense based on EPA/play yeah that team would do just fine. Ladd is built for Bryce.

Herbert had 28 total TDs to 13 INT’s this year. Bryce had 25 total TD’s to 11 INT’s. Both had 7 fumbles.

During second half of season Bryce had a better EPA + CPOE comp and a better EPA/play than Herbert

The way people drag Bryce around here but throw Herbert into that elite category is laughable

The Chargers gave up 66 sacks this season. That's the most in the NFL. The Panthers gave up half that. I certainly remember the constant hand wringing and excuses from folks like him when Bryce was getting sacked into oblivion.

Anywho. The Patriots are possibly a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Bryce Young threw the ball 30 times for 150 yards against them for 5 yards per attempt. His stat line basically mirrors that of Herbert against them in the playoffs. Which team got blown out worse though with more at stake? And for clarity. Bryce was only sacked once in that game. Herbert was sacked 6 times.

Bryce on the Chargers would be brutal. Don't expect that unpaid sycophant to offer a rational rebuttal.

He thinks Bryce would have better production with Ladd than Tmac. I think I’m done engaging with him.

Herbert is a better QB. The Chargers would have won yesterday if BY was their QB instead of Herbert. Both things are true.

The patriots smoked us and Bryce earlier this year. Their OL (this season) was twice as bad as ours. Mike Tirico said Herbert was the most pressured and sacked qb in the league. @frankwsaid he was sacked 66 times while Bryce was roughly half of that, imagine Bryce getting sacked twice as much, no way they win that game with Bryce at qb.

So, who's your pick? Free agents. Who's better than what we have?

If you’re being objective the only one is Jones assuming he comes back 100% from injury. Willis has more tools but I’m not sold on him being a long term starter guy yet.

    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
    • I said this ALL last season and will say it again this year. Our record means diddly squat this year, I don't care if we have 0 wins or 17 wins, I only care about one thing and one thing only. Bryce proves without a shadow of a doubt that he IS or ISN'T our long term solution at QB. It's the only thing that matters for the same reason it sucks that this is the same thing as last year.  This needs to be determined, and if they can't determine it, then it's still telling the team the answer, just not the one they want to hear. As right now we're in the ultimate QB purgatory, a position that dooms franchises for years.  Just look at a team like the Cardinals, who extended a better QB and it still screwed them over and haven't had a contending team in a long time. People get too caught up on wins and losses when evaluating players, particularly QBs.  When people look at the final record and use that as a reason to want to extend a QB or not is just a fools errand.  If we had lost 2-3 more games last year because we didn't make a last second FG, I genuinely wonder if we would have just moved on from Bryce this offseason (like we should have been doing anyways IMHO).
