Canales isn’t being trashed in this thread.  There are compliments and critiques.

where we stand at the conclusion of year 2 is just elementary and normal football talk…and  a we now have finalized season to take it in.

it’s also relevant as we look to the postseason.  It’s the whole look at yourself in the mirror and think of how are you going to try to find a close game.  It’s going to take an ugly game.  We got to make it ugly.

We win the NFC South and you post about how bad the offense is. I'm not argueing that you aren't correct with the numbers. I just don't understand why you can't wait until after the playoffs to bring all of that up. There will be plenty of time in the offseason.

TOP is the stat to look at.  We run a sloooowww plodding offense.  It’s not good, but better than the stats indicate, we went from 31rst to 19th.  Just like the best years under rivera, SLOOOWWW plodding offense giving fewer opportunities to the oppenent was the saving grace. why do you think we went for it on 4th so much.

As shown here with 2025 vs a 2013 team….slow and plodding is fine.  But you need to be like 2013.  Not 2025.  2013 we were good when we went about it.   Scoring %.  TO%.  3rd down % and redzone %.

I simply posted the year end final stats.  At the years end.  Playoffs are always viewed as a next chapter.  Which is why the stats are also separated.

and it’s relevant to how we now have to go about finding a way to compete…as we all guess the right strategy that should be used on Saturday.   And it will be relevant after that.

don’t participate in this thread then bro.  It’s that easy.   Go do Rams only talk or whatever your preference is

Well to be honest...

2025: Offense ranked bottom 20's.

2024: Offense ranked bottom 20's.

2023: Dan on Tampa ranked 23rd (Ours 32)

2022: Bottom 20's

2021: Ranked 30th

2020: Ranked 21st

2019: 19th

2018: 10th

2017: 19th

2016: 19th

2015: 11th

In the last decade + we've had a good offense statistically twice.. Thing is, I don't see a way out of that trend either. Atleast not with our current combo at QB/HC. Wish we would have grabbed Kellen Moore at OC back when.

My best case scenario: Another good draft + FA QB ..i.e Winston, another WR (speed and can run routes), a reliable TE (Olsen-lite like), and a new OC. We could probably sustain the teens with just that and a healthy oline.

I guess I stand corrected. You are enjoying yourself as you whine about how bad the offense is.

Sorry. My bad.

You are in here whining about people talking about Dave’s year 2 O in review.

Oh I agree...I mean, when slow and plodding doesnt work, it looks fuging god damned awful.  its why were like -7 billion in point margin. If you are slow and plodding, yet you go 3 and out over and over, or worse yet (like we did against the pats) just give up points off turnovers or special teams, it gets SUPER UGLY, SUUUUUUUUPER quick. Its as much as an indictment on bryce young who cant be relied on to run a fast paced offense as it is on evero who legit just NEVER will get off of the field on 3rd down.

Evero’s defense is best defined by that Baker INT.    It’s literally just wanting a QB to be dumb as they get tired of slowly picking it.

I do think going for it all the time on fourth and having a ton of success doing it is under appreciated. I don’t see too many talking about it, not necessarily on here but on espn and such. Dave should get credit for that I think.

It’s a bend don’t break strategy. Good offenses can pick it apart but he has been working with a deficit in defensive talent in his defense. Regardless Evero is a FA after this season.

    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
    • Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
