Geno Smith unfollowed raiders on social media

I'd rather have Geno instead of Dalton standing back there. Not great, but Dalton needs to just ride off into the sunset, or be launched into the sun. Whatever works out best.

If that was the only option, 100% yes. Cutting Dalton is move #1 this offseason.

I would not want him. Willis or Howell for younger unproven or Mariota or Trubisky for uninspiring vet.

dude...my god...the howell homers are HARD on for that guy.  hes a backup, but not someone to improve bryce.  Willis WILL NOT BE on our team next year.  someone is coming with a truck for him and it wont be us. Mariota...ehh maybe but hes old.  Trubisky I 100% could see.  Look for us to sign a wentz or Minshew.

Cutting the backup qb?

that’s what you think is move #1?

QB play is the biggest problem with this team. I'd trade Bryce, but assuming we don't do that, the next best thing we can do is bring in some actual competition for the job.

Not sure what's surprising about that. Like you think off ball LB is more important?

This isn’t what you said. You said cutting Dalton is move number 1

id prefer we shot Bryce like a horse

Geno would be a HUGE upgrade on Dalton and could push Bryce a bit. I’d be all for pursuing him if he’s released. Contract he’s on is too steep though. And I wouldn’t want him to be the only add at QB — Willis is ideal but also would draft a guy with some developmental potential (physical traits) day 3.

I don’t see any chance we move on from Bryce sadly but my ideal overhaul of the QB room is going from Bryce/ghost of Dalton/scrubs to Willis/Geno/rookie.

I see Howell as better than Dalton and if he's able to legit compete for a starting spot, whatever. At this point I'm not to ashamed to go scraping the bottom of other people's barrels. We've got Andy Dalton and Jack Plummer. Who the fug are we to talk poo about anyone else's QBs.

Bro I can't tell if you're serious or not. Yes I'd dump Bryce in a second if it was me. What I'm saying is improving the QB room is the top priority. I'm glad to get in a posting war but like I said, can't tell if that's where you're going.

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
