I mean, that's easy to say now, but it's not like McDermott was going to be fired unless Pegula fired him. I suspect that Pegula won't be any more involved with the Bills than he has been, as he just made Beane the football czar. It's Beane's show now, and all the pressure and responsibility that comes with it.

The simply fact that they are letting it be known that a current young player on their roster was only there because of a coach that they fired just shows how dysfunctional it all is.  McD typically kept it classy.

Dysfunctional as hell, right now, but it will settle down once again with the right coach.

Josh hasn't always played well in crunch time. I mean, it's easy to play hero ball during the regular season. But let's not forget that they've had teams. Diggs would probably have something to say about "hero ball" and being run off.

Also, I guess Mahomes is the greater hero.

I feel like a lot of Josh's playoff losses are in shootouts and in OT right?  Didn't they literally change the OT rule because he lost in a shootout with Mahomes and never got the ball in OT?  This year he has several turnovers no doubt, probably because he is trying to play hero ball too hard.  It was also a terrible call on that WR catch.

Also yes Mahomes is the better QB no doubt.  His franchise also built a better team around him. If the game is on the line Mahomes it the one you want above all right now.

Josh Allen has a passer rating of 101.5 with 3,915 yards, 29 touchdowns and 6 interceptions in 15 games in the playoffs in his career

When you are picking where they are picking, you typically don't have it zeroed in on one particular player.  I will say that we kind of did though, and both look like they were reaches at this point in their young careers.  I agree in that Allen needed and still needs some help.

Yeah I don’t know. There were three guys that went right together.  Bang. And they were sitting at 32 in front of us and SD.
I figure they knew we were taking Legette if they traded with us, and didn’t mind that.

I feel ya. The only thing I really disagree with is the catch. I have listened to plenty of analysis, have seen stills and of course video. I will never believe it was a catch, as Cooks did not secure the ball, which allowed the receivers hands in there and snatch the ball away. That wasn't a running situation. Knee down on the ground and ball in hands does not count. The process of the catch was not over. As far as OT, it is what it is. That's why it's a team sport. The D let him down in 13 seconds.

I saw on a video where Allen is the only player to account for 50 TDs in a season, including playoffs, to Not go to a SB. (that year)

And he has done that twice.

I wonder if they’d do XL for Keon Coleman straight up

Replace an earnest but fairly empty head with a head case may not be the best solution. I am gunshy of guys with attitudes that allow them to miss meetings and stuff like that. You just don’t want them around. Or, I don’t anyway.

If we want value out of Legette we gotta rehab him this offseason, get him looking better before that trade deadline. If that’s possible. As he is, what the hell could you really get for him?

Our top two offensive coaches have WR coaching in their background, they should be able to improve him.

dawg, not sure if you follow hockey at all but Terry Pegula is by far the worst owner in the NHL and has run the Buffalo Sabres into the ground -- 14 straight years missing the playoffs. Buffalo media has reported extensively about how Pegula has run each team (mostly hands off with the Bills since McD and Josh arrived) and their observations are that the way Pegula has handled the McDermott and Beane situation has been an absolute disaster and very reminiscent of the Sabres disfunction.

We don't really know the full story and never will but I do know that Pegula's comments in that press conference were completely asinine and came across to me as a terrible owner trying to come across like he knows what he's doing. Why in the world would you make those comments about an active player on the team, or air all this alleged behind the scenes dirty laundry in a press conference? Came across to me as a terrible owner being defensive about his stupid decisions.

There very much was a reason McDermott was fired and Beane was kept. Now, whether that reason had any basis in objective logic and reason is anyone's guess. Based on Pegula's history, I suspect his reasoning behind the decision was very flawed. This is very reminiscent of some of Tepper's clown decisions and comments from the worst moments of his time as our owner so far.

It's nice having teams other than ours look so dysfunctional for a change.
