If anything, this only means even more injuries, worse quality of product on the field and more meaningless late season football. But at least they get to charge you full price for it! Hooray for unrestrained capitalism!

The more they do this, the more the NFL will turn into a war of attrition. It's hard enough to keep these guys healthy for a season, much less adding another full speed, high impact game to the schedule. Another bye week and expanding the roster is going to be the only way to do it and keep people interested. It seems like half the playmakers are done for the year by week 10 anyway and the season starts getting boring. Probably why we see so many questionable/terrible calls that lead to upsets and closer divisions to keep the season somewhat interesting.

every team having an international appearance every year is almost guaranteed right now.  Panthers will be the Home team in Germany once every four years in the current rotation (2028 being next).

List of home game markets:

  • Argentina: Dolphins
  • Australia: Raiders, Rams, Eagles, Seahawks
  • Austria: Lions, Colts, Chiefs, Pats, Seahawks, Bucs
  • Brazil: Lions, Dolphins, Pats, Eagles
  • Canada: Bills, Bengals, Cards, Lions, Vikings, Seahawks
  • China: Rams
  • Colombia: Dolphins
  • France: Saints
  • Germany: Falcons, Panthers, Lions, Packers, Colts, Chiefs, Pats, Giants, Steelers, Seahawks, Bucs
  • Ghana: Eagles
  • Greece: Chargers
  • Ireland: Packers, Jags, Chiefs, Jets, Steelers, Titans
  • Japan: Rams

Example:  if we're playing the Packers as a road trip, there's a chance that the NFL would make us play in Ireland or the UK for that matchup to align with GB's home marketing country

How much money is enough money? Looks like the NFL is hellbent on becoming like the NBA where the league's best players consistently get hurt and miss games. People pay to watch the best players. There's no product without that.

The NFL like the NBA needs to wake up and realize this is not 20 or 30 years ago. These newer generations of players outside of rare outliers will never be ironmen like previous generations.

But it's all about simple greed. Out of touch elites like Robert Kraft will never learn.

Check out the rant by PK Subban about the culture difference between NHL and NBA. Now while this doesn't necessarily apply to the players, I think it applies to the owners. The owners are losing touch with the fans and it's becoming more about money than the people that pay to watch it. Conversely, it's why Banana Ball league become such a huge success. It's a fan driven sport that people get to immerse themselves in. Football is losing that in a hurry and owners like Kraft will keep true home grown fans away if it keeps up.

Most professional sports owners barely care if you show up because the TV money dwarfs the amount generated in the stadium. The NFL particularly is like that.

If you look at NFL stadium trends, it's about adding "premium" features to raise the prices to the stratosphere and out of the hands of average folks. 

Also consider that the NFL prioritizes the richest people on the planet owning their teams. 

They aren't losing touch with the fans, they lost that years ago. It's about how much it takes before the foundation starts to crumble. Also, they all see it is coming in the US. That's behind the attempts to be global.

The NBA will never fail because it is a global sport now. The NFL is desperately trying to achieve this because they are on a direct path to failure.

Should be easy too. Weeks 7 and 8 are byes and week 14 and 15. Also every team plays a division game before and after their byes

I get what you're saying about showing up but like you said, TV money dwarfs stadium, but people have to tune in. That's the normal fans they've lost the connection with. I barely watch NFL anymore because the product is poo. With all the technology, it's easier to see how bad the calls are and most of it could be fixed with some effort. I realize they're trying to go abroad but soccer is far more popular worldwide and I don't see American football taking that away.

If they wanted to maximize profits, fix the product before it gets down right impossible to watch, and it's damn close to being there. Pro wrestling is still popular even though it's scripted because they're embraced the show and entertaining the fans. Goodell is probably one of the most out of touch people I've ever seen when it comes to being relatable to the fans. At least Vince McMahon is someone that embraced his villain character. RG is just a douchebag.

      I see the logic in what you're saying, but I'd also say there were games with a bit more talent on the roster that some of the L's are actually W's.  AZ - We don't get off to a crappy start and if this game is later in the season when Bryce is a bit more comfortable, I think we beat the Cards NO - At least one of, if not both of these games would've gone our way SF - Perfect opportunity to snag a win on the road that Purdy handed to us, but we couldn't do anything offensively TB - Final game was winnable in Tampa  All this to say, I think 8 wins is about where we were at in 2025 if you take the games we barely won and combined them against the games that we barely lost.  Add 5-6 new pieces in FA and the draft. We went head to head and almost beat the Rams in a meaningful playoff game that gave a lot of the youth that experience to take into 2026 and beyond, and I do think 10-11 wins is achievable next year.  Not guaranteed, but much the way folks thought we could get to 8 or 9 wins this year as the ceiling, I think 10-11 is the new ceiling for next year.

      Milano at LB.  We just have Jags at the position. Can still draft an LB. Likely has to be in consideration at TE. Sanders hurt. TT FA. Doubs, Alec Pierce, Shaheed. All three could really help this offense in totally different ways. Doubs feels the most redundant of the group but he is also the most polished and talented wr. Be done w XL.  I still argue that Bryce needs an elite, Houston-type, defense in order to succeed here. I would legitimately find out the asking price to both Myles Garrett and Vita Vea. Cleveland is transitioning and will have a new coach. Vea is in last year of contract.  Assemble the best dline in football. Bring in Milano to fix ILB. Corners are good. Safety’s aren’t terrible and Ransom looks promising.  You’d have a 3 year window or so.   Biggest issue w any plan is going to be LT. Idk what the fix is there.
