He had an Achilles injury in 2024.  Smart player.  Good pass protector. had a down year in 2025.    Has never played between two guards like Lewis and Hunt--should cost under $8m.  At 28, he has 5 years left.  I am not against it if we can get him for about $5m per.

I just looked at that, you probably did too. Time for the back channel scuttlebutt and see if we can find out how that Achilles was holding up. And whatever else.

New coaches and people are saying it signals a scheme fit. I got no clue what they were doing in Tennessee.

It also said he was due 8 million this year.

Bryce cannot see the spot in the field where tight ends are most likely to be effective. Prime hall of fame tight ends would do Jack with Bryce. No point in bringing any good ones in

Yet the playbook isn’t limited. Technically I guess.

interesting point.  going to think about it because I have not up to this point.

Bryce is just an overall significant limitation on our offense. No way to sugarcoat it. We can either choose to keep trying to figure out bandaid around it or move on.

I look at the QB situations in Miami and Arizona--and do not see bryce rising above that.

If Simpson is there in the first--do you pull the trigger?

That's just not true. It may feel that way to you, but if you look at his passing charts, most games he's completing more passes in the middle of the field than the outside. Even in his 100 yards stinkers he's completing more passes over the middle than the outside. Probably gets more yards throwing outside the numbers, but he usually completes more passes over the middle. A tight end that knows how to post up and box out for the ball would definitely help. In my opinion, he needs to take more deep shots outside the numbers and less short passes between the numbers.

Moton is on record as saying he does not want to play left tackle if my memory serves me correctly.

I don’t recall him saying that. I do recall when he was a rookie/2nd year that he said he was working to know the entire OL. That said, that was a long time ago and at this point, moving him around seems counterproductive. It’s not 2018 or 2019 when it seemed to make sense and he played well at LT when he had to do so due to injuries.

This is Moton’s 10th year, no point. We need to draft multiple tackles at this point with no idea how Iky comes back in 2027.

    • I still think another QB is brought in Day 3. Grier is camp body level at this point.
    • We’re in a pickle. My best hope is we protect him and can run the ball vs most Ds and the WRs are healthy so he has every chance to not look like what he looked like in too many games last year.
    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
