A pretty insane QB stat

All I know is you cannot pay Bryce 50 million a year. If he has a solid year next year I think the most prudent thing to do would be trade him and let someone else do it.

panthers beinf the panthers if byoung finishes anywhere above bottom 5 qbs in the nfl they gonna pay him as a top ten qb and lock him into a long term deal just to punish the panther fans for being panther fans

How many made it to the SB?  Cam was drafted #1 and almost won, do we think he wasn't worth the pick?  lol

Same with Joe Burrow.

It’s a stupid weird stat. Here’s some of the stuff that messes up:

1. It ignores the 3 SBs won since 2000 by QBs drafted before 2000. It also ignores the 8 SBs won by 1st rounders drafted outside the top 5. That’s 42% of the SB winners right there.

2. As you mentioned, the SB winner clause removes 8 top 5 lost SBs and 5 1st rounders drafted outside losses, which is 50% of all SBs since 2000.

3. You also have the SB for Nick Foles that absolutely gets and asterisk because top a top 5 Eagles draft pick was an MVP candidate at 11-2 with 33TDs. If Wentz doesn’t have that amazing season, the Eagles aren’t the #1 seed. It’s like the Hostetler SB win that ignores what Simms did. Foles doesn’t win that SB if he played the entire year.

4. Tom Brady won 23% of the SBs by himself and lost 3 of the 26. He’s the exception that proves the rule.

The funny part is that outside of Brady, the list of SB winners and losers is basically 1st round QBs, including some traded guys.

It's only a stupid stat if you're desperately clinging to the idea that the only way to find a SB caliber QB is in the top 5 of the draft. I get it, it hits some people right on the feels but it is what it is.

What it really proves is you don't have to sell the future to go up to 1 to get a QB. Finding a QB with the tools and having a good coach/system in place makes more impact than draft rankings.

Its been laid out here numerous times what a team would look like with cMC, DJ, Carter, and what other draft assets we gave away.   Fitt and co panicked and the only person that wanted to pumped the brakes was samir and he was fired.  I said all along stay at 9 and see what happened then make a decision, then we made the move it should have been stroud. Oh well lets hope for a miracle this season

    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
    • Didn’t get around to watching this one but looks like Pistons played their starters and actually tried…? Unlucky that they sit vs Magic, etc and try vs us. Hopefully we can beat the Heat and then Magic or 6ers with no Embiid. BUT if not, the NBA really should give us the lottery win this year like they did Mavs last year. Another high pick could be our final missing piece and have us as legit top contenders next year and going forward if we’re healthy. Or trade it for a Giannis type
