Didn't see this posted anywhere. Delete if I missed it.

I'll defer to the more knowledgeable posters here, but he is at least saying the right things. Some paraphrased quotes I noted:

- He likes production over athletic "beast" guys

- He prefers to keep his draft pics, needs them to build the team

Draft picks are better for cap management and production always outperforms athleticism over time.

100%, thats why I am normally a fan of trading down and get more pics this draft and better pics for the next one then splurge on a FA when you think the time is right

4:30 am until 9-9:30 pm I think he said. That’s his day. Every day. You can see it on his face,

They ribbed him about not blinking. He owned it.

Blinking is for the pussies lol

I'm really rooting for Morgan. Loved him as a player and he just seems like a really good dude.

Me too. And his guiding principle of finding guys that love football seems pretty elemental, but people lose sight of stuff like that. He is aware of the importance of culture.

We will find something out this year. The 2024 draft was pretty off. I have said why I think it went that way. Whatever the reason, it wasn’t good.
The draft last year seemed to kill it. Now, Tillis admitted that with all those utter holes to fill it is not as difficult to find contributors with multiple picks. And they did.

We are nearing the point where the holes are filled and we will need to upgrade from a higher level of talent than the first couple of years. We still have enough needs that I expect him to find multiple contributors again but it is becoming a bigger challenge. Can he get a future star at 19? Upgrade positions with a 4th round pick? Make wise and effective FA decisions?

It gets harder.

I can see worrying about the Saints at 8. Would he truly fall to 15?

I think no matter what the saints are getting a stud, there's a good pool of 13 guys.... they could trade out, but given love may be there among other studs, I think they stay put and just get one...

I'm not 100% convinced with this, for example he drafted XL based on athletic traits. XL only had one year of production at USC. I'll at least give him credit for drafting T-Mac based on production. Overall, Morgan has drafted more contributors to this team during his tenure than Fitterer. I remain hopeful he'll continue to upgrade the roster.
