Weird QB Situation Brewing

 Share

Recommended Posts

So looking over a spreadsheet I made, just about everyone has their “guy” at QB only real question marks left are:

-Raiders (Likely Mendoza)

-Browns (Likely Watson or Sanders)

-Cardinals (No clue)

-Jets (No clue)

-Steelers (Supposedly Rodgers is coming back)

-Minnesota (Maybe competition for JJ)

However the QB pool for guys who can start or at least function at QB looks like this:

-Kyler Murray: Doesn’t really fit anywhere. Left the Cardinals/Don’t fit Reich or McCarthy’s scheme at all.

-Kirk Cousins: Could see him going to NY, Pit, or AZ. Not a long term solution.

-Andy Dalton: Likely to be released or traded. Could see him reuniting with Reich or backing up JJ since McCown is there, that’s about it.

-Jamies Winston: I imagine he will be back in New York backing up Dart.

-Justin Fields: Hard to see him competing anywhere

-Zach Wilson: Also hard to see him competing anywhere.

Don’t think Davis Mills or Mac Jones are going anywhere. So will be interesting to see how all these pieces land.

I mean I guess it could happen, O’Connell tends to prefer statues.

It will be interesting to see if they give up on JJ or not. If they want to win now then I can see them getting a vet.

I’m more interested to see what Arizona does. I can’t really see any of the above landing there

He looked terrible. The right move is to bring in legit competition. Don't pull a Panthers and be three years down the road and still refusing to do it.

Saw earlier they were looking to hang onto Brissett. He wasn't great, but he also had zero running game. I expect them to let him have a shot at the starting spot and see how it goes. If he busts out, they're looking for another QB next season.

No clue but I would've rather had Wilson than Pickett. At least Wilson has tools to work with. Pickett is just a younger, more expensive Dalton brought in to be no threat to Bryce.

I think its obvious...if bryce DOESNT pan out, the team is going to be trash.  Penny Kickitt will lead us to another QB.

I think by the time this draft is over, we are going to have a pretty good team around whatever QB takes the snaps.

    • I don’t think we would spend that kind of money on a LB that can’t play all 3 downs. It said he played 331 coverage snaps last year and only gave up one TD so him not being a coverage LB seems kinda like BS?
    • Moton should be back in 27 just due to the guarantees. I can't see us cutting him and eating that cap hit. Trade might be a bit different, but how many teams trade for 20m tackles?  I wouldn't be surprised to see us take 2 this year, 1 in the first and one in the 4th that has potential to play inside if they don't develop as quickly. Our line is awfully thin atm with the unknown injury Hunt got during the postseason. Even if Hunt's ok, we still lack depth. I could see is walking away from this draft with 2 tackles and a center, especially if we move down to pick up an extra 3rd or 4th.
    • He was so up and down for 4 seasons. They declined his 5 year option for a reason  Oloukon has been their LB1.  Evero loves to send pressure so my guess is if Lloyd is going to be used a 3 down back here he’ll be blitzing on 3rd down a lot. Would’ve liked to have signed someone a lot quicker if that’s the case. Lloyd isn’t very explosive. Used to be
