Could we be targeting Kenyon Sadiq at #19 now?

I hope it’s DL/Edge. I’m biased towards that LoS but if we can beef up our Dline and add a talented rookie who can win 1vs1 on top of the Phillips signing…oh baby.

Agreed.  Unless a DE is a Julius Peppers type, it takes a couple of years to really develope.  I am hoping we can get one to go with Prince and Scourton.  Or another Interior Dlineman might work as well.

Carolina Panthers Primary LogoCARTackle#63

Panthers signed LT Rasheed Walker, formerly of the Packers, to a one-year, $10 million contract.
This is a great deal for the Panthers. Walker, a former seventh-round pick with the Packers, made just over $6 million on his rookie contract. This is a decent pay bump for him. Among NFL tackles with at least 490 left tackle snaps, Walker’s 69.3 PFF pass-blocking grade ranks 21st. The Panthers lost starter LT Ikem Ekwonu to a patellar tendon rupture during their Wild Card Round loss to the Rams last year. While he is undoubtedly rehabbing the injury rigorously, signing Walker gives them a reliable, if non-elite, starter for as long as they need one in 2026

Still weird he signed a 1 year deal as a young decent LT, I'm surprised someone else didn't offer him a longer term deal...

Him and his agent weren't going to get the money they were asking, so the best option at that point is a short, prove in contract, that he can show the league he is worth a better long term contract.

That is a win win for both camps.

Very relieved. And one year… at that price? And got Lloyd at under the predicted rate too.
Good going.

This is the best option we had. By far. Short of a trade or a trade up in the draft. Neither of which I would have been real happy with but we were in a bad spot.

I don’t think he is quite on Icky’s level but he was the best way to go. I am surprised he took a 1 year deal.  I probably would have preferred  three year but we can develop someone this year.

All in all, this is the best case scenario. Thank you Dan.

I’m telling you around the league players that are looking at long term deals on the oline are looking at us. Getting to play next to Damien Lewis, Robert Hunt, and Taylor Moton is a real selling point.

They're looking at us resetting the market. Who wouldn't want in on that?

Is this what competent GMing looks like? Wow.

The Panthers front office has done a magnificent job with both the process and execution of their free agency plan. Every move has felt intentional, disciplined, and focused on building a stronger roster without sacrificing the future

Expect to see Icky extended to cover this deal and give him time to recover. Makes sense now, given that this is a 1 year deal.

Good enough is all we need

I'm not sure of our OL coach, or his pedigree, but I agree with this.

I'm a huge believer in finding guys who are "good enough" in the "non skill" positions and then coaching them up.  Yes we pay these players millions, but we also pay our coaches millions.

We've band-aided the LT position it appears.  Now up to Dave Canales and his coaches to design an offense that can succeed.  That's why we hired him - he was an "offensive genius".

Alot of this rides on Bryce, but after watching what Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones did with the right system, it's time for Canales to put up or get out. Especially in this division, which is by far the weakest in the NFL.
