I guess this is a thing where people begin to forget the more time passes but my recollection of the huddle over the last 20 years is this is how it has always been. And if you attempt to wade into the murky waters of X or Facebook it's the same thing. The difference is people are bothered or unbothered by it based almost entirely on whether the context of the conversation is perceivedly positive or negative and reaffirms whatever biases they hold.
