It was 100% Stoopid then and still now. A 80 year NFL owner makes comments about women and liken tight jeans, so what he now must sell the team, total hogwash. This was a classic of other NFL owners not liking how JR bullys them in owner meetings. No chance Id sell over that nothing burger. Sue me, Id have soooo much blackmail on other owner and the NFL, please lets meet in a public court room for me to share.....Id hire a female lawyer and request she wears skin tight blue jeans for my enjoyment.....

Facts it's still crazy that they made him sell over that especially considering what some of the other owners have done.

JR was a rich 80 year old white man from the south I'm not at all surprised about him making some "inappropriate" comments about what a woman is wearing water is wet what a surprise. That's just the way things were done during his time, and he should and did get punished for his actions by paying some hefty fines, but it definitely wasn't something that he should've been forced to sell his team over.

I'll never forget him insulting Peyton Manning during a negotiation, reportedly belittling the quarterback’s knowledge of player safety and asking, “Do I need to help you read a revenue chart, son?

Probably the best college football game i've ever watched, Stroud did everything people said he couldn't do, while Bryce was already out of the playoffs and regressing without having elite the elite talent he had the year before

So Jameson Williams and John Metchie were elite talents but Egbuka, Marvin Harrison, Njigba and Cade Stover weren't?

Bryce had Jermaine Burton, Jacorey Brooks and Kobe Prentice that last season. A 3rd rounder and 2 UDFAs.

A friend of mine, Dr. Brown, asked me to help him with something.  He's evidently made a couple modifications to an old sports car and wants me to test drive it for him.

He asked me an odd question that I wanted to get your thoughts on.  He said, "You know Carolina Panther history pretty well, right?"  Then he went into this long gobbledygook speech; something about light speed and gigawatts and butterfly effects. I dunno.  He lost me there.  That's when he asked the odd question.  He said, "If you could change any one instant in Carolina Panther history, ... just ONE, ... what would it be?"  He told me to think about it and I'm supposed to give him an answer tomorrow.

Not sure why he wants to know that just so I can test drive his car.  Anyways, I came up with an answer but, before I tell you mine, I thought I'd ask what your answer would be.

Dr. Brown? As in "Doc" from back to the future? Test drive a car? Talk about changing the past? Are you Marty Mcfly?

Cam Newton’s shoulder injury in 2016 during a Week 14 game against the San Diego Chargers. Kelvin Benjamin not making an attempt to tackle the Chargers defensive back cost us our MVP Quarterback. Cam's shoulder was permanently messed up and despite the surgeries he still delt with chronic pain and soreness and never really had even half the arm strength he did before the injury.

Cam’s shoulder changed the entire trajectory of the franchise.  Not sure if it was the tackle post-interception or the TJ Watt hit.    If the window for cam stayed open, I feel confident Luke grinds it out a bit longer too.

This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.

A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?

Other than the shoulder injury? Hiring Rhule.

Cam had earned the benefit of doubt and we should have stuck with him for at least one more contract.  Would have been better than QB carousel that followed and we probably would have had Greg for a bit longer if not Luke too. A better coach (Belichick, for example) would have recognized that a former MVP was worth rolling the dice on over journeymen but Big Brain Rhule tried to impress the boss by saving money. And even worse; he got a mulligan with Cam’s return but was too invested in being proven right to take advantage of it.

Rhule turned this franchise into a joke. I don’t actually think Tepper is all that bad, just his first major move was a critical error that set the team way back and we’ve been in recovery ever since.

Anything about either of the Superbowl appearances. There are no guarantees the team ever gets back to that game. The Jets won SB3, and have never returned. The Bills lost 4 in a row and have never been back. The Vikings have lost 4 and not made it back. Marino lost in his only Superbowl, but the prevailing opinion was he would get another shot. Never happened.

I mean I agree about diminished Cam probably still being viable. Even though it gave a preview of how teams would defend the pass against a limited QB.
There was an issue with the upcoming contract he was due to get and his expectations vs the new reality of his physical status - that people tend to  overlook when looking back on it  It had an effect on things I believe

But I do have to ask… what about Tepper’s second major move? fuging clueless

I mean I would take even an injured  Cam over Bryce all day long.
