What were you wrong about?

Awesomeness!!

I thought Peppers was lazy and wouldn't play well. (wrong)

Thought the stewart/otah draft was a steal. (depends on if Otah plays again)

Thought Jake would be able to shake the Arizona game. (wrong)

Thought we were a playoff team last year (wrong)

I thought Godfrey would improve dramatically (I think he did)

Thought Barnidge was the answer at tight end (guess not)

Thought Clausen would play ok. (Horribly Wrong)

I really think Rivera will find more creative ways to better utilize Brown's pass rushing ability. He needs to be moved around, from DE to OLB and rushed from different spots depending on the situation, not just thrown in there like he's 20 pounds heavier than he is.

Fox/Meeks never seemed to get this. He's half 3-4 OLB half 4-3 DE, but not really either fully. If Rivera/McDermott can get him more involved as an edge rusher and move him around I think he can be a real weapon defensively.

wrong about matt moore continuing his winning ways into 2010.

right about dwayne jarrett sucking since day one.

still on the fence about goodson being a viable #2 - sutton is the better option.

right about not letitng delhomme go - he got paid for the 2010 season, he should have been kept around as an advisor/back up...imo, him not being there was the key reason moore fell flat on his face and clausen never showing up.

right about deangelo williams needing to carry the rock less.

right about jonathan stewart needing to touch the ball more.

right about geoff schwartz being one of the biggest steals of the 2008 draft.

I'm wrong every day when I come to the huddle expecting to learn facts about the team/draft/free agency etc.

Instead I get this:

"I'm right so screw you"

"well you're wrong and I'm right"

"I was right before anyone else"

"I don't like black people"

"I don't like white people"

"Pie"

smh

    • I think you have to factor in that we're still not an attractive proposition for Head Coaches. You're not getting the cream of the crop if you fire Canales a year after winning the NFC South, especially considering the situation he walked into.
    • Yeah, I was about to say I hope he's doing okay health-wise because he's not looking good in that pic.
    • Honestly, I dont  think he should be on the hot seat yet. A bad start to next year, then yes. Despite our mistakes on play calling this past season, we played better than anticipated overall. Bryce showed improvement and maturity (although still not nowhere close to our expectations). Better record and 2-15 to 5-12 to 8-9. Despite what we feel the stats dont lie we are improving by 3 wins a year. Could 11-6 be our expectation. That's a high bar but at the rate we are going, thats what its looking like. We all want to see a 5-12 to a 13-4 record but we are methodically moving up. Success doesnt happen overnight (well in most cases).  IMO we are struggling mostly on the defensive end. LB and edge are our biggest weakness. I see Bryce making improvements (even though I was a Bryce hater) next year. Biggest concern is LT on offense. How to fix this? We need a big name edge or to trade up and get a big name edge or LB and pick up one in FA and draft one. Also if in the 3rd we can pick up a TE. Dont know if Sanders is the answer or Tremble (even though I love Trembles blocking and power after the catch). If these two can get their footwork together they would be great. Maybe all they need is a better TE coach. And if Brooks can stay healthy and be the back we thought he could be, man that would be great
