Michael Floyd Might Be Available

Michael Floyd will likely be eligible for the Supplemental Draft if he is dismissed from #Notre Dame or suspended for all of 2011.- Evan Silva

Michael Floyd's situation would be similar to former UVA linebacker Ahmad Brooks'. Brooks was dismissed from Virginia in late March of 2006.

This is assuming there will be a Supplemental Draft. It is usually held in mid-July. My guess is that it will be, but I don't know for sure.

Since he got another DUI. Love to have him :)

Depends on what it would cost. I have no idea how the supplemental draft works. Does every team get a chance or what? If all it was costing was a 4th or 5th sure but otherwise I think we have had enough problems with drunk a$#es at WR. On the field though the guys a beast.

Since he didn't meet deadline to announce...do the Panthers have first shot at supplemental?

Plus...what teammate is better about taking a WR and punching him in the mouth if he doesn't straighten up. Floyd, with no offfield issues, IS/WAS a 2012 1st round pick.

From what I know, it works similar to the draft, except you lose next year's pick when you "draft" someone. Example, if we took Floyd in the 4th round of the supplemental draft, we lose our 4th round pick next year. It's kind of like a reverse auction in that sense, only you're losing a draft pick instead of money. And yes, every team gets a shot at it.

    • Oh for those tired of the Mannings I have bad news, Peytons son Marshal already has college teams after him and he isn't even in HS until this fall...   I'd wager we have two Mannings in the NFL in 2030
    • Push em to the brink!!! Shut em down Freddie!
    • I tend to look at all of these guys and wonder how committed they are to doing special teams? It's a big deal when you're fighting for roster spots. And we need massive refreshes to all phases of the special teams game. And the idea that four or five of these players could see rotational use outside of special teams would be a win. This team has accumulated quite a bit of dead wood over the last five years and its time to take an axe to some of it. These new fellows have a shot to benefit from that if they can really push. That being said, wow that receivers room is crowded right now. I'm not sure if I was a vet player with more than 2 years experience other than Adam Thielen if I'd be too sure of my future here. Tet is guaranteed a spot, Coker earned his for sure and they aren't done with XL developing yet. That's only two to three spots left for the entire room. It's going to be very competitive and better for Bryce's future, too. Safety and linebacker are the opportunity spots here this season. There's room for the right guy and we may see a starter eventually from one of these UDFAs, either by merit or injury.
