Tony Softli on Cam

Actually, people would tell you Nawrocki is the most "plugged in" of all the draft analysts out there.

As mentioned before, I'd feel the same thing about Softli if he were supporting my point of view. Ditto Matt Millen. I'm not interested in either of their judgments because I've seen what happened to team that listened to what they had to say.

"He's just relaying info" you say? Fine. So is Nawrocki. So are others.

And vice versa. Your defending Nawrocki, and he's just listening to the sources and research he's come up with, which is fair. But under the same argument why are you hestitant for Sofli when he ,like Nawrocki is doing the same thing?

Agian Sofli isnt using his grading, tape or opinion that caused him to fail, But simply listening to his sources.

Whether for good or bad, I wouldn't take much from Tony Softli seriously.

He ran the Panthers college scouting department through some of our worst drafts (including that disaster in 2005) before - for God only knows what reason - the Rams gave him full personnel control and he helped guide that team straight into the toilet.

Gil Brandt, Rick Gosselin, Mike Mayock, Nolan Nawrocki...all good sources. Softli? Not with a resume' like that :nonod:

Nobody had ever heard of Nawrocki before this situation. Are you just pulling guys who agree with you and saying they are good sources?

...Nobody has heard of Nawrocki? What?

If he was a nobody, no one would care what he said. He's supposedly a very good evaluator as far as non- NFL folks go, which is WHY people are actually talking about this.

You never heard of Pro Football Weekly?

Softli's job with the Panthers and Rams was researching and evaluating players.

He wasn't very good at it (and that's being very generous).

What's Softli doing here? Researching and evaluating a player.

PFW is easily the best football publication out there, the only one I know of right now that's all football rather than just various sports including football.

It's an expensive subscription (80 bucks a year) but for me, worth it for the in-depth coverage of every team, free agency, draft, etc.

No, I don't get kickbacks  but I've subscribed to the magazine since before the Panthers existed and highly recommend it to anyone who loves the game.

You get better coverage from PFW than you'll get from any other national source.

Whoa crazy rep MAV.

The signs are clearly pointing to Cam Newton.

First, I ate dinner at a vietnamese place the other day. My girlfriend knows I love the Panthers so she asked what was going on with them. Told her about the #1 pick, etc. Guess what my fortune was? See attached image.

Now, my rep hits 6666. I don't exactly know how this relates to Cam Newton at all, but since I'm a hater, I think I should jump to some kind of crazy conclusion, and Cam Newton being the spawn of satan seems appropriate, all things considered.

So what you are saying is drafting Cam #1 would be the start of the 2012 apocalypse?

See huggers, we told you Newton was horrible!!!1!11!
