Just stop

The majority of us get it: he's a phenomenal athlete that can potentially be a great player in the league. He's a poor public speaker, but seems to mean well. He can say odd things but whatever, who doesn't. He was arguably the best player in the NCAA in the SEC with a spread system and will no doubt take time to adapt. He's a huge project, a huge athlete, and a huge risk. So, seriously shut the hell up because you look stupid on both sides and consequentially make this fan base look like a bunch of chickens running with their heads cut off.

Most of us are completely neutral and will not get mad if we pick him or not. I have my personal choice for #1 but who really cares about that anyways?

The draft is near, let's get together as a fan base instead of slowly growing more and more bitter with each other. We have the number one pick in the entire draft and our franchise is about to change a lot within the next few weeks and following months. Relax.

So again, just stop :)

I've been saying that I think personality wise, Newton is just one of those guys that some people love and some people hate.

Most of us probably know someone like that, and we already have or have had a couple of guys who have a similar polarizing effect on people who meet them (Steve Smith, Jimmy Clause, and David Carr to name a few).

That, to me, helps at least partially explain why there's so much difference of opinion on him.

Cam is no more of a project, than any other QB in this draft.

Say what ya want, there will be an adjustment, for every QB to be had.

Cam has shown he can learn 2 offenses in 2 years.

While I don't expect him to learn everything there is to be learned in a year, of the new offense that the Panthers will be employing, I'm sure he'll learn quickly.

How that translates to him getting onto the field this coming season (if we have one) is another story though.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
