CS Reader's Mock Draft:Hold the Cammy Cam Juice

I'm sure your influence has Hurney cowering in a corner. Not to mention quite a few people have Gabbert ahead of Newton.

I've yet to see one report where the panthers were even considering gabbert. He just doesn't have the ability to play in ron's offense. Gabbert is likely behind newton, dareus, a.j green, and pp7.

Who plays CB2 in the meantime?

I love Munnerlyn, but don't think he's starter material. You think we'll look to FA, draft or promote someone on the current roster?

I like Johnathan Joesph of the Bengals who's an FA, I also think we should draft a corner in the meantime as well.

He's been interviewed, had a private workout and a visit with team officials, same as the others.

Too bad they didn't address CB...Especially once Marshall jets.

That's expected, but part of me wonders if Rivera might not convince him to stay.

(or if he might find out the free agent market for him isn't what he thinks it is)

I'm sure we've contacted and worked out von miller as well but it's not likely we draft him as with mallet. Leaving no stone unturned is the trade mark of this front office but, by all means all i've been hearing since before his proday is the panthers just don't like gabbert.

Actually no, they haven't been in touch with Von Miller at all.

They've scouted him (they scout everybody) but only the serious prospects were brought in.

And the fact that those stories came out before he had his pro day or any other contact should give you a clue how seriously to take them.

Don't want Gabbert myself, but objectively, there's zero real evidence to think he isn't being considered.

Seriously... if we draft Gabbert, I will go all out to get Hurney fired. There's no way he should be ahead of Newton in anyone's mock.

I'm sure Hurney is shaking in his boots. You are right though there is no

way. Actually there are many ways. Gabbert is smarter on the uptake and

will transition to the NFL much faster and easier. He will be a much better

Face of Our Franchise then a guy with a known record of stealing computers

and lying and cheating. Thats a helluva resume for a guy that is to become

oue "Franchise". Besides Gabbert is just plain better and the smarter pick.

Actually I found the article useless. First of all no one is predicting we will take Gabbert first- no one. So why would he think he has inside knowledge no one else has.

Second, trying to predict who will we take in round 3 is a waste of time given we won't know who is even available until the time arrives and Hurney has shown that in later rounds he almost always picks BPA.

Third other than hoping we take certain guys at certain positions, there is no reason to believe that this mock draft is better than picking names at random out of a hat.

Yeah... that guy is who we need. He can fill Clausen's inept shoes perfectly.

Oh, here's another..

Clausen 2.0 in the making.

    • Personally I think he's a nightmare to cover I think linebackers generally aren't fast enough to keep up with him in coverage and cornerbacks don't have the strength to tackle him one-on-one in physically bring them down which would normally lead to a broken tackle or a nasty stiff arm or just bully ball play sure you could find a receiver with comparable speed like Cooper but he's faster than Cooper sure you can find a wide receiver that is the same size but he's probably More powerful than them and a better blocker.  The size speed athleticism package that he is in is completely unique it's easier to say I'd rather have just a big blocker because we've never seen this type of profile before I'm a risk taker I think you would be God blessed if this was there at 19 I think if you can get a guy that's a tight end who immediately becomes the fastest guy on your offense and at the same time that third wide receiver that can stretch and burn defenses over the top that's the perfect what the Panthers need type weapon.
    • I think you're under selling Sadiq. They are two different players in terms of how they win. Loveland is 2 inches taller maybe 5-6 pounds heavier. Comparing his speed to sadiq.. well your comparing a 4.7 guy to a 4.3 guy I'm seeing a guy that can take a bubble screen from the tight end position and turn it into a house call. I'm not saying the guy is a certified home run pick but I don't think there's really a president's for a comparison for this kind of athlete. It's easy to say this doesn't look like Warren or Loveland because we haven't seen guys that fit this profile The closest you might be able to get is Vernon Davis.  He's not as sure far as those guys were but at 19 I think almost everybody is going to have some warts and he's a lottery ticket of could be top 10 in the draft player or could fail I am more of a risk taker I think he fits the athletic profile that could be a homerun, like I said he's almost 40 lb bigger than Cooper and like 4-5 in taller than Cooper so and he's faster. So whatever you think Cooper gives you I think he does that and more. If you want to go with one of the office alignment I can understand that as well but for value as a receiving threat I don't think there's a bigger value at number 19.
    • I’ve haven’t seen anything that says we have interest in Njoku?
