What's Moore going to do now?

Clausen and Pike are under (cheap) contracts. The Panthers just drafted Newton. Presumably, Moore wants a legitimate shot at starting.

Last days in Carolina or is he going to try and get the short term job here as an audition while Newton learns the NFL?

Moore was gone the moment he got hurt last season.

Clausen is getting the shaft. He was thrown into the deep end of the proverbial pool before he was ready, had no time to develop, played with an injured patch-work offensive line - hell, even Rivera said it was almost impossible to evaluate him due to the circumstances and conditions under which he played. The guy is last year's 2nd round draft pick, and they are already abandoning him. Do you guys realize we have ERIC SHELTON and DWAYNE JARRED more opportunity than we gave/are giving Clausen?!

The guy I feel the worst for is Pike. The guy has skills; however, Fox didn't like him at all and had no intention of trying to develop him. He brought in SCRUBS to replace Clausen instead of trying Pike and seeing what he had. When they bring a Veteran to run the offense while Newton develops, which they will HAVE to do, Pike and Moore will be jettisoned. At the very most one of them might hope to be kept on as a member of the Practice Squad.

At first I thought he would play that vet role but hearing Rivera talk about Cam possibly starting and the reports that Jimmy is in working right now I think he's gone.

If Carolina STARTS Cam Newton right away he WILL be another JaMarcus Russell! Newton is NOT ready! He needs time to develop.

(The more and more I look at Cam the more and more I think 'Donte Culpepper' for some reason.)

Clausen isn't getting shafted, he's going to be a good backup QB for the Panthers because he doesn't turn the ball over much and that's an admirable quality for a young backup. He also can mentor Cam a bit with regard to being a rookie QB in Charlotte and what to expect, good and bad. I still say Clausen starts Week 1. As it should be, unless Newton blows it up and gets the job that fast.

Was Dwanye Jarred any good?

    • To the last part. Evero sucks at generating pressure unless he’s going up against a beat up OL like the Jets. However.. he does do a good job of having the DL/LBs contain. Hes even mentioned that’s part of the reason that they struggle to rush the QBs because he doesn’t want guys moving out of containment.
    • If there was ever a game to get behind that offensive line and the run the rock with Rico it's this game.   Only one team has been worst than Buffalo at stopping the run this season and that's Miami and we saw what happened in that game with Dowdle. Buffalo of course has one of the most dynamic offenses so the more time we can keep that offense off the field the better sustaining drives will be crucial. Atlanta had their way with Buffalo in their last game that scire could have easily been 28-7 at the half. With that said with an improved vertical passing attack and emphasis on the run game Carolina pulls the upset 24-17
    • This sounds just like a lot of Panthers fan during Bryce's rookie year
