Wild cat with Cam at WR

you don't put your 50 million dollar qb at wr in the wildcat. I don't see him being used as a decoy. if they do run it it'll be with him at qb. to much risk at wr with people trying to cheap shot him and cut block him.

So far, there is nothing about Rivera that tells me he is going to follow a script. Something tells me BECAUSE people think "Oh, a $50 Mil QB won't line up as a receiver!!!!111", he is going to do just that.

Thank you, Lord, for the voice of reason! Are you guys SERIOUS? Did we draft Newton to be a serious 'franchise' QB or a gimmick? I thought drafting a QB who had never been a WR before to BE a WR at the espense of this year's 2nd round draft pick was a little nuts! Spending $55 Million on a 1st Rnd draft pick to be rushed in as a gimmick QB is even more ridiculous.

Someone please list all the teams who have gone to the Super Bowl relying on the WILDCAT?! Name a QB who has relied on the WILDCAT to make it deep into the playoffs? Yeah, forget Manning, Rogers, etc...who needs a serious QB?! Let's convert Cam Newton to a WILDCAT QB or even a TE?!

    • I swear Morgan didn't have 1st(#1 overall) or a 2nd rounder in this rebuild.......Then his first 2nd rounder that he gave up two 5ths for is now out for basically 2 years..... Football is not forgiving....
    • This. They better not even think about bringing him back if they are short on TE's.
    • MHS, You are missing Claudin Cherelus is a LB that's in the mix for the 4th spot. He's been here for 2 years and had a couple injuries. I mean he was a wavier claim and been here for evero system, just had bad luck when given a chance. Jon Rhat is the current leader mainly cause of he is the ST ace. But Id say, Cherelus has the same % to make the roster.  CB has the recent wavier claim of MJ Devonshire a 2024 7th rounder. He's got the good-great combine numbers but he's small size. Still he's in the mix for backup duties, in fact all the non-UDFA are wavier claims.  ______________________________________________________________   Dam shame about Clowney. I view this as a bad move. I feel clowny is well worth the 7.7, even as a backup. He played hard the whole year without help. I just feel he would have helped more than either DJ Johnson or Barno.  My only cope is he's 32 and at any point his miro-knee could force him to drop off a cliff performance-wise. I wanted to keep him around at least until the trade deadline and if no chance at playoff, flip him for a anything. NFL is a meat grinder, no love for locals....
