Thomas Davis must reall be something special...

Recommended Posts

He IS something special. What I find difficult to digest is a player that is such a stand out at his position, so replacible at any position other than the first.

It is safe to say that the majority of panther fans don't know how to judge their way out of a wet paper bag, ...they couldn't judge their way out of round 1 of a draft 20 years ago.

Glad I wasn't the only one that thoroughly didn't understand the point of that post.

In regards to TD, I love the guy but I wonder if at the end of the day we're just as set at linebacker with James Anderson and Dan Connor lining up back there. Our "problem" is that we have a concentration of talent at the LB position and are bereft of talent at the DL positions. In years past, we had the opposite problem.

I still have hope for Everette Brown, Greg Hardy, and Charles Johnson obviously but I wonder what we're going to get out of our DTs that we just drafted. I think that will make or break our defense.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
