First i agree with you on the dirt cheap line, BUT i disagree with you on Haynesworth. he's PAID to play no matter what. it wasnt like Shanny came in to make him angry, he came in to try to insert a defense he studied on. NOW i agree with you on McNabb and i still wonder what was the point of even getting McNabb, but Haynesworth was NOT Shanahan's mistake, that was Cerrato's mistake and Haynesworth is at fault for all that happened with his play, not Shanahan, Hayensworth didnt like the 3-4 and didnt even try, now i agree with you on McNabb, but not Haynesworth. Haynesworth is a big, fat waste of money.

He may be paid to play.....but realistically motivation is HUGE in the world of sports. Shanny from day 1 (way before a real game was played) made Haynesworth an example and outcast. As a coach/motivator.....that was a poor move b/c of Haynesworth personality and the investment in him. We also know Shanny's poor decision making with players wasn't exclusive to Albert as he treated McNabb situation like garbage as well.

Sure, Haynesworth prefered not to play in a 3-4. Can't blame him for that as he was sold on comnig there he never would. Shanny made certain Haynesworth would want no part in it. Can't fault Haynesworth 100%...just part of it.

Haynesworth had NO motivation to play and that was on him, HE whined, complained and publically declared he does NOT want to play in a 3-4, he became lazy and didnt want to workout with the team, this is on him and i agree he treated McNabb badly, BUT if Haynesworth's actions were on himself. i AGREE with McNabb's treatment, but can't agree with Haynesworth, you pick and choose where you go and he could've re-signed with the Titans or signed with the Bucs, he chose Washington, he should've treated the switch to a 3-4 as a blessing, instead he treated it like it was never going to work and he didnt try to make it work. Shanahan didnt make Haynesworth not like it, Haynesworth himself didnt like it and made it known when Shanahan let it known he wanted to switch to a 3-4 and Haynesworth's attitude wasnt just aimed at Shanahan, he ALSO had issues with Zorn before he got fired.

he picked Washington and I am pretty sure it was specifically talked about when he joined they would not switch to a 3-4. That isn't a blessing, he is probably the best 4-3 DT in the game and flat out isn't as good working the NT in a 3-4......he chose a team that told him he didn't have to worry about switching to a 3-4.

Shanny basically blackballed Haynesworth before the preseason started w/ his repeated "failed" test. He tried to make an example of him....Haynesworth was slimmed down and in good shape. DTs across the league said it was bullpoo....the media spun it Albert was out of shape. Shanny was trying to make a point.

Zorn sucked.

again, not claiming Albert wasn't at fault......but you can't ignore Shanny. Dude lost it.

God the redskins suck.

In all honestly I think that team needs to demolish everything they have, and rebuild from scratch. Hell, maybe even a new name would at least put some revitalization into that organization. Rebuild some coaching staff, and not waste time just spending millions of dollars on free-agents that are just looking for some cash.

I know the Panthers went 2-14 last season, but at least we are in 10x the better position than the redskins. We have some hope. Redskins are banking on expensive FA's.

I love how some fans claim there is a lack of motivation, or that albert just needs the right kind of motivation..

This is the NFL. IF you don't have the passion for the game, OR, IF you can't be a professional enough to be motivated by being paid, then you don't need to be in the NFL.

Players like haynseworth, are the most worthless men I've ever seen. Alll the talent, money, and ya still can't do what is asked of you.

Go take a long walk off a short pier, and save the oxygen for someone who has a heart and brain.

I try telling this to all my washington friends but they still think they can compete in the east even though many people are predicting them now as a Luck landing place
