I'd take a healthy Morgan over Beason in a hypothetical situation assuming health isn't an issue.

But in real life with everything considered you gotta give the crown to Beason. Sometimes things just don't work out. It'd be nice if Morgan stayed healthy as one of the best LBs we've ever had but it didn't happen.

Yeah health is the key to the argument. I mean if Morgan was healthy of course but, he wasnt and Beason has been a constant. I think as long as hes stays healthy later in his career he will pass up Morgan in anyones opinion.

Dan's body failed him, he wasn't in control of that... among other things, people forget he had 18 tackles (11 solo) in SB 38 which may still be the most, or close to the most tackles by any player in the history of the SB.

On top of that, I've had the pleasure of meeting Dan in person on more than one occasion and he's one of the most down-to-earth and genuinely nice guys you'll ever want to meet.

I can assure you there's nothing wrong with Dan mentally, on his worst day he knows 10x more about football than most of the jackwagons that post on this board. If I recall correctly, the source of the ridicule he endured the last time he made the mistake of visiting this board was his suggestion that we should get Vick heading into last season... in retrospect it doesn't sound like such a bad idea now does it?

I think Beason is a much better athlete than Morgan, which may be one of the reasons why he's been able to stay healthy (knock on wood).
