Is anyone here not really happy about the direction this franchise is heading?

To be honest, the only contract I sweat a little over is DeAngelo's.

Then I go read what Weddle and Posluszny got and I feel pretty ok about things.

heard that players were talking a lot about weddle's deal. no one would say what they were saying, though...just that it was pretty inflammatory. so bad that they wouldn't even say it anonymously.

Deangelo was arguably the best back on the market and johnson was the best DL on the market...keeping good players comes at a price...id rather have them than not have them
i guarantee you that a lot of teams are hating the panthers now because of that williams deal. several RBs aren't reporting to camp now. matt forte is the latest.

New coaching staff. Headed by the coach I wanted a few years ago. I'm definately okay with that.

New qb. Whether ya think cam will be the franchise or not, we needed a new qb.

Contracts.

Johnson got paid what he is worth. I was expecting it to be a little more.

I have no problem with d. Williams contract. If it wasn't for the cba, he'd been extended 2 years ago. He's getting money he's already earned. I'm sure he'll be good sharing the load for at least a few more seasons.

Anderson got a good contract. We didn't over pay, and he's the best we've had at the position since fields.

We didn't break the bank on davis either. I'm. Not gonna worry about possible injury. I've learned a long time ago to accept injuries in the NFL. Try it sometime.

Every new coaching staff are going to bring their role players into the fold. That helps a team. Good thing.

The direction is a good one. Never know the bumps we'll find along the way, until we cross them.

compared to what Sessions got paid, we fared well with JA and TD

The big contracts they dished out to resign their own players have a higher risk than possible reward. With the exception of Charles Johnson, the others have most likely seen their best playing days pass them by. I don't think Deangelo will regain his '08 form and Thomas Davis could very well be ineffective with a twice ripped up knee. Why on earth they gave him a massive new contract while yet to see how he has recovered while he is still under contract for a year has got to be the worst move since the Delhomme contract. The James Anderson deal was fine, didn't break the bank on him and he had a great '10 season.

Hurney has most likely put the nail in his coffin if these moves don't pan out.

Go big or go home. After last year what does he have to lose?
