Who here knows the typical recovery time for an MCL sprain? Speculation, but if that's the best-case scenario with Gettis' knee, I'm curious how long that could sideline him.

Coming from a guy who had suffered a complete ACL/MCL tear, can tell you that dependent on the severity, it's generally a 1-month recovery.

So if it's just the MCL and not serious he'll be back by the regular season.

Good for Clausen. Sounds like he has had a good day at TC. I've high hopes for all of our qbs in belief that at least one of them will have a good year.

Man, I hope Gettis has a speedy recovery, whatever the full extent of his injury may be.

hope it's no more than a 1 month recovery. that'd be excellent

I offer up some perspective, even if you hate it.

Thank you for the support on Twitter and the site. It's not much, but doing what we can while managing several projects at camp. Appreciate it.

Just checked out your page....nice! Will you be doing anything after training camp with your site or is it just for training camp?

Thx, Mike.

The idea is to keep it going. I have access to camp this year through my gig in radio and as a contributing reporter in the area. My time is split between the site, filing reports to various papers and working interviews for radio.

The site will continue, and will evolve with video, podcasts, and reporting on football across both Carolinas (ACC, SEC, High School). Panthers will be a mainstay.

Happy to give updates when I can, and thank you and the huddle fam here for the support.

Can someone translate this into English?

"All supporters of this fine establishment known as the Carolina Panthers football club need to post in a style that is more suited according to how the club depth chart is going to appear on a week to week basis this season. It is important that you understand the nuances of such a complicated game as football and it is of utmost importance that you understand the nuances of your team before you rush to judgment and make such uneducated, uninformed posts. Having seen Mr. James Clausen throw a football in a game environment, it is my opinion that he is completely incapable of effectively being a starting quarterback, and anyone who disagrees with my completely unbiased, educated, informed, and respected opinion is simply not willing to face the real truth about his obviously inferior skills as a field general."

Great job.You reported the facts as you saw them which a welcome relief from reading some of this childhood garbage that some of these guys post.

Damn.. if Clausen could play like he is tonight for the rest of the season, then Cam might get a full year to sit the bench and learn.

If he can play like he did....Cam might be traded.

If he played like last year...he should be relegated to the Pop Warner League.

I am interested in seeing JC this season....with a real coach, better weapons, and more experience.

He may surprise a lot of people.

I still believe/hope eith Anderson or JC plays well and we are able to let Cam continue to learn and develop. Still think it is the best long-term solution for the team and Cam.

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
