Anybody Concerned For Cam Safety ?

All I can think about is Blake Griffin and how all last season they used to do little dirty tactics

Cam running out of bounds clearly, get knocked over. Cam run and obviously going to the ground, they dive on him. Diving for Cam legs while in pocket. Grabbing his face mask to bring him down

Idk maybe it's just me being paranoid. That poo isn't going to fly though

The new QB rules are making me feel better.

Now that we have a potential franchise type QB, I am glad there are stricter safety rules. :)

those rules don't mean diddly poo once he becomes a runner.

Not really, not as protected as NFL QBs are these days. Remember how maddening it was when Vick was a Falcon and our guys would hit him as he scampered down the sideline just as his feet hit the white line and it would draw a 15 yard penalty? Well, the tables are about to turn in our favor on that one. With a guy like Vick, you have to pick your poison. Do you hit him and risk the flag or do you let off and risk him walking the tight rope down the sideline and scampering for a TD? I think defenses will have to make a similar decision with Newton. If he's a RB or WR, you light him up and it's a great play, but the rules are different with QBs, even if the QB runs more like a RB or WR.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
