Sam bradfords first preseason start VS Cams

Take very little away from these games game calling wise.

Watch for footwork, technique, and mental exercises.

They know they can run the ball. Working on deciding if they can throw it to anyone not #89, a TE or a RB.

Sam bradford - 6-of-13 passes for 57 yards

Cam newton - 7 of 14 passes for 66 yards

Stop worrying

annnd bradford was going to sit out some time his first season because he wasn't as ready as they wanted but he was forced into the lineup when Feeley went down with an injury.

cam is a rookie. cam looked like a rookie.

i personally prefer not to start rookies unless you need to, but i'm not the coach. if Rivera thinks he'll give us the best shot or it's best for the team for him to start, I'll be all behind it. i just personally think he looked like a rookie, and one that I think needs some more time before he takes over full time as the starter.

Rookies don't develop unless you throw them into the fray. Running into a buzz saw defense last night was a good thing for Cam and the team. We learned that the O-line needs some work and the receivers looked rusty too. Peyton Manning would have had a hard time with that O-line protecting him.

Gipetto, I know what you're trying to do, and I appreciate it. I really do. But all of these comparisons to this or that QB are basically meaningless. They neither affirm my feelings that Cam will be good, nor bolster my belief that he will be a bust. It's just kind of tiring that people cannot keep themselves on an even keel.

Good comparison for the point. Let's see what the "mock week" looks like as everyone gets everything figured out.

Honestly, if you thought this team was going to have a winning season then you were already going to be disappointed anyway. We're laying a foundation under a new coaching staff with a rookie QB coming off a 14 lose season and a shortened off season.

Let's all be realistic and try to enjoy the process.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
