Tom Sorensen Blames The Fans

Lucas loves attention but doesn't want attention. He drove a Rolls Royce Bentley and wondered why Charlotte's pedestrians and drivers would stare in the windows to see who was inside. Tired of the scrutiny, he dumped the Rolls and began driving more pedestrian vehicles -- a Maserati and an orange Range Rover. Hey, he practically disappeared.
huh?

LOOK AT MEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

WAAHHHHHHH!!!!!EVERYONE"S LOOKING AT ME!!!!!!!

schizo attention *****.

If he genuinely thinks fans have that much influence, then why is Jake still here? Why did it take so long for Matt Moore to start over David Carr last year? Or Williams over Foster?

I don’t disagree with him about Lucas being a decent player, and I agree that our pass rush made him look worse than he is, but to say that the fans are responsible for Lucas’ departure is ridiculous.

I would hope that the Panthers aren't making football decision based on the fans response.

The Panthers listen to the fans less than any other team in the league. It took them over a decade to get some form of the Panther logo on the field. I doubt they listen to us when it comes to personnel.

Try being an Eagles fan.

A Rolls Royce Bentley?? I didn't know those two companies teamed up to make a car...

Sorenson is a moron and to make the assumption that a team releases a player because the fans want them to is ridiculous. He needs to get his finger out of his a** and do some real reporting on the Panthers.

John Fox needed something or someone to pin the blame on for his horrific defense and schemes the 2nd half of the season. The fans jumped on Lucas and the Panthers responded by firing and thus appearing to be "correcting" part of the problem. Lucas wasn't a problem w/ what occured on defense. No pass rush, lame zone scheme and Godfrey being lost.....made Lucas an easy scapegoat. Fox deserves the blame for putting people in a position to fail. He ran his same tired defense that didn't have the front four to make it successful.

If we don't bring in a decent vet at CB....we will definately be weaker in talent in comparison to last season. If we do indeed lose Peppers in a trade for draft picks only......it will be hard to watch the Panthers on defense next season. Fox has proven to only want to rely on his front four and his occasional blitz schemes also have appeared very obvious and unproductive overall the past few seasons. For a defensive guru, Fox has proven to lack a great defensive mind in Carolina. His defensive scheme is very similar to his ground game......he runs the same crap regardless of who he has on the field. That isn't great coaching. That is a coach who finds success only when he has the right pieces for his 1 and only plan.

CRA,

So if Ken Lucas were in another system he'd be Deion Sanders? Blaming one player is sometimes overly simplistic, but I'm sorry, Ken Lucas was making too much money and wasn't producing enough to justify that contract.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
