My Alarm Clock

Recommended Posts

I hate the sound of my alarm....I literally cringe when I hear it....I have issues with waking up

Anyone got any good tips for helping to get yourself out of bed in the morning other than: "grow a pair" or "go to bed earlier"

Ipod

Then set the alarm as a song that gets you up and crankin

Putting your alarm across the room works for a lot of people. I had a roommate that had a hard time getting up, he was the heaviest sleeper on the planet. We used to put his alarm clock across the room from him and also set up the coffee maker to turn on without any water in it, on a timer. If he didn't go down stairs to turn it off the house would have burnt down. Seemed to work and we are all still alive.

I am the same way. I gotta get lucky to wake up on time a lot of mornings. I am currently waiting for a package in the mail with a Screaming Meanie alarm (seriously, the ONLY thing that I get up to EVERY time).

I pretty much have my clock set at my desk, which requires me to get up. Clock has 2 alarms, each set at 30 minutes apart and 1 minute sooner than my phone alarms. My phone has 3 alarms. So, my clock is at 6:59, phone is at 7, clock again at 7:29, phone at 7:30, and then my last phone alarm is at 7:30. My phone is by my bed, but it requires a LOOONG stretch for me to reach it, which is good for getting awake.

Again, heavy sleeper. Recently, I've slept straight through all my alarms. Hence, getting the Screaming Meanie and setting it at 120 decibels.

    • T-Mac is a nickname, Tet is a shortening of Tetairoa. Like you said below... your name is Jonathan, I could see "Jonny" being considered a nickname, but Jon isn't a nickname, it's a shortening of Johnathan, see the difference? And if your mom named you Jonathan for it's biblical significance/meaning, because she was very religious, I think it would be different. T-Mac is Polynesian, so much in their culture has deeper meaning for them, particularly names.  So for his mom to feel this way, I highly doubt it's just because she likes the name Tetairoa and not Tet, it's much more likely than not to be because the name itself has a deeper meaning in their culture.   Particularly as T-Mac himself has often talked about how much his Polynesian heritage means to himself and his family. And no, I'm not saying all this because of how much he's my guy, if he was just "normal american" and his name was Jonathan and he didn't like fans calling him Jon, I'd probably just say tough poo.  It's that he's Polynesian and I know things like names have a much deeper meaning in their culture than they do in ours for the most part. For whatever it's worth, a quick google search.......
