Faith means you believe 100%

So my alcoholic buddy had an episode and went and got cleaned up and found Jesus. Curiously he is drinking again but whatever.

After the Panthers game on Sunday he wants to start talking religion. Fine.

I said I think i believe in a higher power but nobody can be 100% sure what form that power is or if it even exists. The whole point is man cannot know God.

He replies that faith means you believe 100%.

I say: so you will not give even .00001% chance that there is no higher power?

Nope he says.

So how many of you Christians agree that there is 0% of no higher power?

Saying you have to believe 100% just goes back to you have to believe the way I do. I hate when people start preaching. Keep it to yourself is what I say.

but Faith comes from hearing, reading and seeking.. Yes, i am a Christian and believe in God. Since I stay hungry for his word and general knowledge- my faith doesn't waiver anymore..

You can have complete faith but still maintain that you don't completely know whether God exists because faith and knowledge aren't necessarily the same thing. One could technically be an agnostic theist in that sense.

FWIW, if you have faith, I would assume that means you are "all in."

I have yet to meet a devout *insert religion here* that didn't waiver or backslide if the right situation arose.
