Colts sign LB Seward

Seward was a great draft pick for the Panthers. He was a 5th rounder if I remember correctly. To get 5 years out of a guy and have him contribute, all be it on mainly ST, is a solid late round pick. He was never really going to be apart of the main LB rotation but did show promise early on. I find it sad that guys like this go un-noticed / unapprechiated for what they do for the team. Just like Lucas and Goings, Seward's time was up in Carolina but for what he gave the team the past five years I say thanks.

is dan connor next to be like this..i hope not but with landon sticking around i dont see him takeing the place of Diggs..but it would be a waste for us to have him as a backup.

Also, things are looking good for us to receive compensatory draft picks in 2010. That is the 4th FA we have lost and we have not signed any new ones. Unfortunatley, Jones contract with the Titans was at the league minimum and those values are sometimes not high enough to receive even a 7th round pick. But Jones contract was for three years and that could help the computation somewhat. I am hoping Seward's is for the above the minimum.

Of course if we go out and sign 4 or more UFA's and they stick on the roster after cuts, then all of what I said goes out the door. Such is the way the process works.

Yas is wrong in that article. The Pats did not sign Seward to an offer sheet last year, he just worked out for them and they never called back thus he signed his one year tender with us.

you expected yas to be right? weird.

anyway....he was good backup and depth to have. i was glad that we didn't have to use him much in the past couple years. doesn't hurt as much as losing hangman but still...thanks for being a part of the team.

glad he has another chance to play somewhere. hopefully he won't be buried in the depth chart and gets some good PT there.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
