He is however a defensive genius. Then again his play style, man vs. man required a lot of vets. Your defense should be solid if you just keep a bunch of vets.

TBH McDermott and Rivera dont have what Fox and Del Rio had in 2002. This team was and still is a mess. Partly because we went cheap last year and partly because we have refused to sign any notable FA since 2005. As someone has said poo rolls down hill.

As to Fox, no fuggin way.

Del Rio is to the Jags as Fox is to the Panthers.

3 winning seasons in 9 years (counting this season)

besides, Mike Smith was Del Rio's DC for a while... (see Oakland vs. Gruden Superbowl for an example of what happens when opposing coaches know your every move)

Del Rio in and of himself isn't anything special.
