Stats don't tell the whole story. He's thrown it out of bounds quite a bit. But he got 219 yards off those 13 completions and 2 TDs. He mounted a heck of a comeback and looked on fire for the win had GB not run out the clock. He completed some crazy laser passes on 3rd and 10 or longer backed up in his own end of the field on the run, and he threw a TD pass similar to Cam's to Smith against the Saints to mount a decent comeback at the end. He's putting them on spot in double coverage and across the middle.

Good thing the game's at home.

I also saw him get jumpy and throw some bad balls. 40% completions is just that. 40%. Are you one of those guys who defended Jimmy last year when he went into "check-down or throw it away" mode? Not saying I don't think Ponder is good. But to say he played great is ridiculous. Having a few good throws does not a good QB make. Consistency is what matters. He didn't have it. Never mind the fact that a lot of his yards came on plays after the catch. He threw short. Of course, sometimes that is the right play, but he wasn't really chucking it down field the whole game. He had about 5 or 6 throws where he HAD to throw intermediate/long throws and he did well with them. We just have to keep him in situations where he HAS to pass and we will be fine.

Get pressure, kid freaks.

Ponder was duckin and chuckin, and running for his life on some of those throws. He appears to be an accurate passer when on the run (from the part of the game I saw), and he will likely look to his TE Shiancoe a bunch next week, but what does their D have for the Cam 'n Smitty show? Jared Allen and his mullet? Bring it on, purple pansies.

I don't see our D stopping Peterson

Run game alone can't win. If Peterson gets 200 yards, but Ponder struggles, we still have a shot at winning. Forte gashed us, but the Bears still needed great special teams play and a pick 6 to win. If we can play well in other aspects of the game, we can still win even if Peterson has a big game.

    • I’ll get killed for this but he always sounded gay to me. Not necessarily not gay, but feminine.  I tried to say it in a more subtle way and still got killed for it last year. fug it I don’t care it’s an honest opinion. I didn’t let that disqualify him and have been very patient and non critical. I just wondered how the big tough guys in the locker room would respond to that.  But whatever, I think he thinks too much from the emotional side. The rah rah positive deal, what must it sound like if he gets mad? Where is the tough hard ass side? The no empathy, get the job done or get gone. I wonder about that. It mean I doubt there is a lot of fear of failure going on.    So anyway to other comments about he sucks and all that, I said I needed a better reason to change my stance on him, which has been give him time. Continuity is super important.  This thing with the running backs is eroding the goodwill.
    • He has a 54 mil buyout so he will be fine but LSU needs o move on.
    • Sure if you just blindly look at stats, you can pinpoint a couple areas that look similar. But come on man that's lazy analysis. Instead of throwing lower percentage throws, Dalton held onto the ball unconscionably long, leading to several of those sacks including that unthinkable one at the end of the first half, inflating his completion percentage. Bryce for all his flaws, does a pretty good job of escaping pressure and scrambling for 5 yards or throwing it away. Dalton's pocket presence was just so incredibly bad today, which led to both of his lost fumbles. If Bryce would just hold onto the ball and get sacked every 3rd play instead of throw it away or try a contested pass, his completion percentage would be 15 points higher than Dalton's today. And Bryce only had more yardage in 3 of 7 games? You mean when we played run heavy schemes in our wins, instead of Dalton being forced to throw all game cause we're getting blown out?  Look anyone is more than justified in arguing Bryce Young doesn't have the tools to lead this team to a super bowl. But he has been head and shoulders better this year than what Dalton showed today. That was just an abysmal perfomance.
