Chris Gamble= shut down corner

I know I questioned if Gamble was starter material earlier in the year, but he's having a great year. Did a better job shutting down Fitzgerald than Aso, we still have yet to find the perfect #2 corner for him because Captain ain't gonna cut it.

Aso, we still have yet to find the perfect #2 corner for him because Captain ain't gonna cut it.

Rather painful to watch highlights of Carlos Rogers' monster games on NFLN when our FO insisted there was nobody available who would be any different for us than Munnerlyn.

This was written on Oct. 29 this year.

"Picking on Revis this season is yielding a QB rating of just 2.9. Yes, 2.9. The next best mark among starting corners is the 39.4 of the Panthers’ Chris Gamble and there are only three players under 50."

So yea he's a beast this year. I bet that 39.4 has gone down even more with the pick this week.

    • At this point, I think Chubba is the odd man out. I hate that, but I think Dowdle gives us more production and big play ability.  But there is still a lot of football to play.  I think it depends on how much Dowdle will want too.
    • I’ve been anti-trade when it comes to Melo, but the way this season has started, it may be time.  I love his game and he’s a cool dude, but I’m starting to think, if he’s your best player, you’re never going to win anything of significance.  Too many brain farts, too many injuries, and ultimately for as fun and entertaining as he is to watch - his game is indeed a thing of beauty - it just doesn’t translate to wins.  And that’s IF he even plays.  I think it’s time to cash out and maximize the return.  I love Melo, but I think it’s pretty clear what the ceiling is for a team where he is the best player.
    • Every NFL team, college program, hell even HS has numerous "what ifs" that got derailed by injury. It's a brutal sport and half the battle is just getting lucky enough to stay healthy. Doesn't matter how durable you are and how well you take care of your body everyone is one weird hit or awkward twist away from a career derailing injury.
