What do you expect our LB core to look like 2012?

Dex

if it means being able to upgrade at other positions i would be comfortable with Senn/Beason/Anderson as the starting lineup, so long as we also draft an LBer with a high pick or pick up a decent guy in free agency.

this also depends, of course, entirely on what schemes rivera has in mind for the defense. if we ARE going all out 3-4 as some have suggested, or even a hybrid scheme switching between a 3-4 and a 4-3, rivera is going to bring in a lot of 'tweeners like applewhite that can play DE or a standing pass rusher.

this offseason may be almost as interesting as the last one personell-wise.

Agreed. I would love to have Super Mario but I just don't see it happening. Bringing in another Applesauce can't hurt.

Mario is a DE. Only a OLB if we switch to a 3-4.

But to answer your question. I'm going Beason, draft pick and Anderson with Davis and Senn as back up

agreed here about all, though i would add dan connor as beason's backup and gaither will still be around. barring any injury, i feel good about that, even with the unknown draft pick.

Does anyone know if Dan Connor's contract ends this year?
it is up this year, but i feel confident that we will keep him around.

Yes, reliable depth will be one thing less to worry about. If Edwards or another vet plays in front of our linebackers, Beason and Connor can really get downhill.

    • Neither was Ryan Orielly. Something big happens tmrw. Maybe multiple
    • I saw that between him and DJ the Bears saved 31.5 mil in cap. I was sort of thinking DJ might end up in Seattle with Darnold but they got him out of the conference. Re Edward’s, the more in the pool the merrier.   Also I said somewhere that DJ was still productive last year. I don’t follow the Bears really. I probably checked in for his best game and assumed. Under 700 yards. Got 1300+ yards Fields’ last year, 1000+ Williams’ rookie year, and now I am remembering that he advocated for Fields. Lol.  Makes me think Williams and him probably never warmed up to each other and he is better off now than he has been in a while.
    • Definitely down with that.  Bam is another guy that fits the criteria I think. Playing Moose at the 4, with Bam or Duren at the 5 just seems nasty to me.  But Bam is a better shooter, so I would for sure go along with that. And yes, we don’t have to make too drastic moves.  Keep drafting well and we will be OKC of the East really soon. 🐝🐝🐝🐝
