Nolan Nawrocki has a chance to man-up and admit he was wrong

Yeah, at the end of the day his "one read and run" assessment of Cam was totally wrong, so it calls into question his competence as a draft analyst.

I let Kurt Warner off the hook because he stood up and admitted he was totally wrong about Cam. He didn't attempt to qualify that or justify it in any way, he just admitted he was totally wrong.

The herp derp Chudzinski made DA a pro bowler in 2007, that's the only reason that Newton is good arugment is lame. I'd like to see an explanation then of why Chudzinski and DA who had primarily the same supporting cast the following year all of a sudden became the 32nd rated QB in the league.

In particular, the comment about a few GM's taking Cam totally off the draft board is suspect to me. I realize there were some character concerns about Cam, but it's hard for me to believe a GM would totally erase a Heisman trophy winning QB from his draft board based on those character concerns. This makes me seriously doubt the legitimacy of Nawrocki's "sources".

BTW, the "GMs took him off their board completely" is complete fugging bullpoo as well.

A.) He doesn't actually know what is on their big board.

B.) There was no way teams were giving him accurate information

Cam Newton would not have made it out of the top 3 picks and was also supposedly #1 on 7 different team's big boards (according to SI, which is also likely bullpoo)

"The coaching staff has done a good job of not putting a lot on the shoulders of a rookie"

LMFAO

I didn't (and won't) read the article, but that quoted statement is just as asinine as his "fake smile" comment.

If the team put any more on his shoulders he would be buried up to his knees.

Yeah, good point... GM's don't tell their own mothers who is on their draft board and if they do tell, it's usually a misinformation campaign.

The worst part about a guy like Nawrocki is that it's just as likely that his sources (if they exist) are using him as a pawn to misinform and confuse their colleagues about their true intentions.

hahaha...agreed....what, like having him start every game this year after a shortened pre-season under a new coaching staff using a totally new offense? Yeah, not a lot of pressure on the shoulders of a rookie there...Let alone the fact he was a #1 pick and had to show he was worth it....

Not only has he had a ton put on his shoulders, I can't remember a rookie QB being asked to do more than Cam Newton since Peyton Manning. Guys like Matt Ryan and Ben were asked just to manage, Cam has at times been asked to carry this offense. That doesn't mean others on our offense haven't been a big part of it, but I see no evidence that Cam has been protected in the least. Quite the opposite actually.

I think Nawrocki only watched the second Tampa game and as usual didn't actually do any homework.
