Saints should rest their starters...

If we play their bench, the win means as much to us as the loss does to them.

Well, technically the game really has no meaning no matter the score.

Right now it's just small details only fans care about. I'd like to go out on a win even a second team win. That is not to say a first team win would be much more satisfying, but as far as it really meaning anything to either team is debatable. Will a seed and home field matter as much as resting starters? Just more details really. The saints are going to the playoffs we are not.

But like I said I think Cam is going to take over the south. Brees is his biggest challenge in doing that and I think Cam will be around more talent, which could be looked at through he numbers, he is going to be making A LOT less than Brees. Even in not looking at the numbers he just has the potential to do it, whether we play him or not this Sunday.

This game is the biggest game for the Panther organization since the last playoff game. I honestly believe that the final score in our game with the Saints will have huge implications for us next season. Win a shootout against Brees on his home turf and next year's Super Bowl talks will be realistic! This young team will finally fully adopt a winners mentality and believe in their swagger every game that they take the field in next year! This game is so important for next year's success.

Win Sunday-we come out of the gate winning in 2012

Lose Sunday-we spend the first five games next year still learning how to win

Why do we have to spend the next 5 games learning how to win? Says who?:boxing_smiley:

We might win, we will most likley lose,

I swear some of you huddlers need a Tony Robbins Enema!

Some of you forget that Brees has Brady on his six. That might be his record today, and if he doesn't play the whole game it may be gone next week.

Tom Brady NE QB 4,897 Yards on Pace for 5,223 yards.

I was thinking about this earlier. If Baltimore wins and New England loses, the AFC race goes through Baltimore. I'd imagine the Pats would rather stay in Foxborough so they'll probably play Brady until it looks safe to sit him. Even though it's highly unlikely the Rams will beat the 49ers, I'd have to play my starters if I was Payton. If nothing else, one half should be enough to keep Brady out of range unless he throws for 450+ yards.

this game has meaning for the Saints.

Saints getting HFA is HUGE for there playoff chances. They know that. They want to play in the dome.....and they need to to. Saints playoff chances are better if they don't have to travel.

See post 187, http://www.carolinahuddle.com/forum/carolina-panthers/74886-breese-said-as-we-win-next-week-post3508565.html#post3508565

Remember 2009. We wanted to bitch slap them in the last game. We wound up beating up all their little brothers (second and third string). Panthers 23 -10. It was a hum drum dissapointing game. I wanted to see them get beat up and sore. Until the saints next game, when we realized we helped them continue their losing streak, which continued into the next game.

Some highlights:

Yea...I am more of a person who believes the best team wins rather than who got the most rest/home advantage etc. The best team is the best team, no excuses. At the end of the game how many times do you say well yea but that team had to travel...

I understand it's the playoffs but something has to be said for the better team all you have to do is look at our very own 03 Panthers.

    • Im not angry. Im disappointed. I want to win. Anyone who has watched Bryce play the last 3 years and thinks that this team has in any way seriously addressed the glaring deficiencies in our QB room is deluding themselves. It's been explained ad nauseum how our FO has protected Bryce from feeling even slightly challenged or pressured. A GM without an interfering owner would have brought in another QB to at least give the team a better chance at winning. We just gave an extension to a QB that only got 3k yards on the last play of his 16th game of the year. Indy admitted AR wasn't good enough by bringing in Jones to compete for the starting role. Tennessee drafted Ward to replace Levis. Stroud hasn't repeated his 1st year and Mills' performance was decent when he filled in after Stroud's injury and some were calling for him to remain starter. His future there is still in question even with a 5th year. We should have done the same, especially given that Bryce was benched.  Bringing in Grier is just another glaring billboard pronouncing the obvious. Dave Tepper still has his hands in the daily operations of this team. He controls the QB room because Bryce was his pick. Until Tepper finally admits that Bryce has barely lived up to the standards of a NFL Qb, we're going to spend our days reminiscing of when we were mediocre and finished 9-7.  It's just discouraging. We'll address every position on the field except the one with a glaringly obvious shortcoming. I had hoped Tepper really had backed off. Bryce's 5th year, Dalton's 2 year contract then trade, Kenny Pickett, Will Grier, Jack Plummer, and  Hendon Hooker say otherwise. It already feels like it's going to be a hard year of Panthers football to watch.
