Your expectations for the Panthers 2009 season are;

....I expect them to do very well, have a high scoring offense and be a contender all year.

Playoffs and then Delhomme getting a chance to avenge last season.

Jarrett to be a hell of a WR, and Williams and Stewart making it fun to get up on Sunday mornings :)

10-6, don't know if that means Playoffs, D-Lo and Stewart both go over 1000, Jake does average as usual, Smitty over 1000 again, Top 5 Offense in the league, defense will struggle, will fight with Atlanta for the division, no major injuries for the second straight year, we beat Dallas in Dallas, and we win all of our prime time games.

sounds like a lot of the same tough schedule just above .500 depends on this and that mumbo jumbo that floated around the huddle just before the last season began.

i'll take some of what chris harris said after the arizona loss, he reminded everyone that the bears lost their first playoff game one season...then went to the superbowl the next.

one complaint that i've always had about the panthers is their inability to handle consistently winning.

i think this squad is over that. winning is an expectation for them. not something that just happens to happen.

This is speaking before the draft, before any Peppers move, and before signing anyone post-draft:

7-9 if we move Peppers and get decent picks for him

4-12 if we can't move Peppers and he mopes even worse than he did in 2007

The latter scenario will result in Fox and Hurney being axed, Peppers finally being moved, and Sam Bradford being drafted to lead us to a Super Bowl. :)

    • Bryce just didn't maximize Hunter Renfrow's skills. ***rant incoming*** But this isn't just about Bryce Young mistiming passes to Renfrow so bad that he's going to get Renfrow killed or hurt, this is also about incompetentence by Dave Canales. Renfrow can still play. He's putting DBs in a blender out there---making them play twister at the top of routes to keep up with him, and dumb Dave has the nerve to cut him. How about putting Hunter in the best position to help the damned offense by appreciating his skill set, DC? You're letting Bryce's apparent inability to make an accurate throw, or at least his timidity to push the ball down the damned field cloud your judgment and miscalculate talent---or maybe just miss on talent just as much as Bryce misses passes due to playing pussified football. It's fúcking unacceptable.  Speaking of misjudgment, I don't know if it's Dan Morgan or Canales, but Eijiro Evero is not the business at DC. I have said a few times that his scheme is not conducive to run-stopping efficiency. Hell, and after watching some clips of plays, now I absolutely know why. The gaps are at least half open before the play even fúcking starts. You are setting the opposition's RBs up for success with too much damned space at the line and in the second level. If our guys are taken out in these areas---at the line and in the second level---then the defense is screwed because it must rely on the safeties to cover too much ground to make the tackle. At least put Ransom in who is motivated to seek and destroy if you're going to effectively leave the safeties on an island.  And speaking of rookies, get our two new defensive ends more snaps to see if we can't generate more of a pass rush. For all the good the continued sorry display of defense that you're putting out for fan's to see (Ejiro, Dave and Dan), you may as well get the rookies generously involved. Fúck that money we gave second-rate (maybe second-rate) vets, we need a damned spark getting after the QB. Watch it, it's just another breakdown of the sh¡t we were subjected to last week. I say this with all respect: Fúck you, Dave! Fúck you, Dan! Learn how to run a fúcking franchise. Maximize the players, regardless of what you think you're supposed to do by the book. Cut the dead weight before another season is lost and fans lose interest in September. EE is "Ew!" Or for emphasis "EEw!" /end rant
    • But nobody is saying he is a good deep ball passer.  But the facts are since he's returned from his benching, he has been throwing downfield.  Whether you want to credit the scheme, Bryce himself, or whatever, he has been pushing it deep.  Not to any positive results mind you, but it has been happening.
