I am leaning towards him now assuming blackmon,Kalil, and Clairborne or all gone.

As of right now hes looking like the best value/immediate impact player at the 9th slot. Never even considered him during the season but as of right now he looks like the best pick to me.

Who yours favorite right now assuming Kalil,Clairborne, and Blackmon are gone?

Meh I don't really think that by the time we pick, there'll be any Top 10 quality defensive wise left on the board.

Trading back would be great but who'll want to trade with us? I keep seeing Cincinnati but I highly doubt that.

Jeffrey's stock just went up after that bowl performance, mainly the 'Hail Mary' at the end of the 1st round. He also put up some really good numbers before being thrown out early in the 1st (against a 'not great' Nebraska defense). Winning the MVP didn't hurt, either.

I'm a Carolina fan and have watched him all season. so here's my take on Jeffrey:

While the guy is considered a 'stud' because of his size and the way he catches anything thrown to him - he doesn't have 'break away' speed, he isn't a very good blocker, and he isn't a good route runner. He has relied on 'God-Given' talent and has not worked on the things that would make him better / the 'best' WR he could be, namely blocking and on his routes.

I wouldn't be devastated if Carolina drafted Jeffrey; however, If Blackmon, Claiborne, and Kalil are gone, what would I do?

Look at CB Dre Kirkpatrick, Alabama, OT Jonathon Martin, Stanford, DE Quinton Coples, UNC, DE Melvin Ingram, USC (Univ of SC), or even WR Michael Floyd, ND 1st.

Yes, Jeffery is now considered a 2nd round pick. I'd go with Still at #1. Take BPA in the 2nd between LB and CB.

No way he falls to the 2nd. He may seem like a reach right now but I am not sold on anyone else that would be of value to us at the 8th/9th. I want a starter with our 1st and am not convinced the 2nd best cb, Tackle, or any defensive lineman in the entire draft have a better chance at becoming a starter day one. I think corner is currently our biggest need but I just don't see Kirkpatrick as being worthy, and none of the tackles outside of Kalil seem like a blue chip prospect either at this point. Obviously as the front office starts the processes all of this can change but as of right this second I'm liking Jeffrey but won't be heartbroken if we fall in love with a corner, tackle or defensive lineman.

    • I have been looking for a dropped pass list and all that comes up is QBs. And team stats. When I do receivers I get the passing stats for a handful that threw passes this year.    I wanted to be accurate but anyhow I was looking because thought I remembered reading where T Mac had more drops than XL this year.  One of you many smarter than me people here,I would appreciate it if you know how to pull that up, please do. Thank you.    And yeah I know that isn’t all there is to it I just thought it was interesting.  Of course what the hell is a drop lol.
    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
    • I think most people like XL from a personal standpoint. I don't think he's stupid either. Although if we are being realistic he is lacking in football IQ at this point in time and it cannot be disputed that he has not taken working on his craft seriously at all times given the body of work on the field. It speaks for itself. I myself have defended him at times given the circumstances of our QB room. But he is now in his third year and 25 years old. We are not in a position as a franchise to go around babying anyone especially first round draft picks. He needs to take his position and his football career seriously or he is going to end up selling used cars somewhere. I hope he realizes this and takes an extended break from social media because that mess certainly isn't going to increase his net worth if he ends up out of the league. And these hanger on types will disappear quick too once that money dries up and it surely will eventually. We'll see how he responds.
