Jon Beason gaurantees superbowl win in 2012

can't wait for that sherrod martin tweet "guarantee i make the pro bowl next year ya'll"

One thing that pisses me off about Martin is his tweets never mention football. They are always lighthearted and mostly concern food, women and clothes. The same goes for Goodson.

All the other players talk about working out, being tired from practice, how the game went, etc.

I think Martin is one of those guys that Cam is calling out.

I have a few questions when people nitpick on a player's comments...

do you really think he's not worried about his rehab? is focusing on the playoffs hindering his rehab or helping his motivation to rehab? is this a character problem? do you really think Jon Beason's comments hinder the LBer position? do you believe Jon Beason is the coach, acquiring LBers for the LBer position? do you believe... okay, about all I got.

All I'm saying is I think the defense has a LOT of work to do before we start throwing around the S word. I like the fact that he is confident and wants to win and wouldn't expect anything else from one of our leaders and my comments were NOT meant as a knock on him.

Notice I said linebacker's responsbility and not Beason's. Beason was nowhere near King when he caught the ball and would have had to run him down from behind.

Which is exactly what he was doing when the injury happened...

Maybe I misinterpreted your post, it happens...

my confusion comes in when if it's not a knock on him and has absolutely no bearing on our future other than to unify our team and make everyone aware they better step their game up.. then there's nothing really to even comment on, right?

other than to say, "I like the fact that he's confident, let's hope he sends a message to the rest of the team that they better step their game up..."

I'm fine with a playoff guarantee as that isn't an unreasonable expectation, but as you know, there have to be a lot of breaks for a team just to make the SuperBowl (much less win it). Guarantees tend to ring hollow if guys start making them every year (see: Ryan, Rex).

I just saw beason retweeting reports about him gauranteeing it dude don't hate

i looked. i saw no guarantee.

i saw him retweet one statement from the news channel he did the interview with that said he predicted it.

not hating. i'm pointing out an inaccurate spin.

predicting and feeling like we could isn't guaranteeing.

12-4 sounds like the record of a playoff team to me

why not strive for perfection than just being good enough? why not shoot for 4 out of 4 games. why not have as your goal to win every time you step on that field?

the bar was set too low. you aim higher and even if you miss your goal you still stand the chance of achieving more than if you had with a lower goal. if you underachieve by a little, the results look better.

we lost to a team in the superbowl striving for perfection. we were a team that was satisfied with just being good enough to get into the playoffs or just being better than average.

we need to have that mentality that losing is not acceptable regardless of the situation. it's not okay to lose one game out of four. it's not okay to lose period.
