The next Drew Carter...

Is David Gettis... Fast, tall, but I don't know if he's going to take that next step...IF he is like Drew Carter where he produces for 3 games, and only gets open because he is fast. Do you feel this Panthers regime will neglect improving the WR core like the old days? I hope we don't pass on some of the wr's in this draft because were getting him back next season, we can't be that dumb. I understand we drafted Jarret and signed Key, but we hung on to Colbert and Carter for way to long.

I think Gettis runs with more strength than Carter. But even if he just becomes another Drew Carter it doesn't mean he can't be useful to us. Drew Carter could go deep and stretch the field and produce 100 yd games every once in a while.

But I don't think that is going to happen. Carter always seemed like he was playing on his natural track talent. Gettis seems to have a burning desire to be a great WR.

You're comparing players in completely different offenses/mentalities/players. Shockey and Olsen didn't end up like Rosario did they? I have a feeling the offenses in the previous regime held guys back, as well as Jake just not being the type that makes receivers better.

This offense likes to use the talent it has and Gettis has deep speed to compliment Cam's pretty deep ball. Gettis showed some good stuff in a rookie season where we had no QB and the offenses were awful so I think he will pick up where he left off.

Way too early to make a judgment call on Gettis. Not only because he has only had on year with a crap QB at that, a sixth rounder who has only played one year and because he is coming off of an inury.

Replacements for Gettis and Davis need to be sought out. Lafell still looks to me like a poor man's #2. Next year we will know for sure on him.

Don't bet on Gettis, a 100% recovery while retaining the desire to play at a high level should not be expected. WR is the biggest need on offense if you think Otah is worth a poo.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
