One thing is certain. Hurney is one stubborn motherfuger. He never gives up on someone after 1 season. Rivera said that we lacked veteran presents on D last year. So don't be surprise if we bring in few vets through FA for D.

If he is stubborn and doesn't give up then I assume he will stick with what we have at DT. Edwards, Fua, McClain, Neblitt, Kearse, and Shirly and see who sticks.

Having Him and Edwards in the middle would be the best DT combo we have had since the Jenkins-Buckner pairing. This move would immediately upgrade the play of our defensive ends and linebackers.

Depends totally on what Rivera really thinks about the young DT's on this squad. With Fua, McClain, Neblett, and even Shirley....we have a ton of young potential.

I have no idea if any of them will pan out as a great DT. But, I do know that it typically takes a year or two for young DT's to learn the NFL game....and that we did not have an offseason.

If Rivera likes our young DT's (and yes, he knows Defense), I could really see us picking up another vet DT and going with what we have. Garay and Edwards as the vets...Fua, McClain, Neblett, and Shirley (3 of the 4) as the young guns.

If we went that route, we could target a DE, CB, or LB (2 of the 3) in the first two rounds.

Will be an interesting FA period and draft to say the least.
