Dan Connor to the Eagles

Agents can talk to other teams in general terms. The Panthers aren't going to make a fuss over a non-issue and bite the hand that feeds them. Here we go again with posters who think the Panthers should go crazy at midnight of the opening at free agency and over pay for mediocre talent. Just look at the teams who do this and tell me how it works out for them.

Dude, I've been a Carolina fan for a long time now. I know how there offseason works. I'm completely used to it and don't care if they go the entire offseason not signing a single soul (albeit that would be sort of dumb). But do you really blame anyone for being frustrated that we haven't heard anything yet about possibly restructuring contracts? Every single team over the cap has made a move to try and get under it, some already accomplishing such, except us. That can definitely be frustrating.

By the way, I think Connor sucks. I'd prefer not to have him back and the only FAs I'm actually interested in are any competent DT and to a lesser extent, Williams (if we could afford him). So I in no way feel like Carolina should go crazy. I'm used to the slow process and prefer it to be that way. But it's still slightly frustrating.

I'm not frustrated. They won't restructure contracts until they have a need to. This happens every year. If you are frustrated, are you sure you have followed the Panthers for very long? They don't make moves until the free agency period calms down. If they have a guy in their sites and need to restructure a contract, they will. Otherwise, we might night see much restructuring until after the draft.

We sort of have to get under the cap soon and Davis is due a bonus this week that we either have to accept, restructure, or cut him to get out of. Yet there doesn't seem to be much discussion between the two sides unless they agreed to extend that date.

You're probably right and I'm being frustrated for no reason. But I am interested in what exactly has been taking us so long to make a decision on TD and other players, like Wharton.

Dude you don't know if they've restructured contracts or not, they don't HAVE to make them public. They usually release that info late.
