Shockey Coming Back?

I like Shockey's attitude. He doesn't have the best numbers tho these days. He did have that one nice touchdown called back for no reason.

Shockey is great, but I don't think Olsen would have any trouble making up the slack. He only had a few more catches last year than in 2010 when Bears fans were complaining he wasn't being used anymore.

Wouldn't mind going with Fleener in the 2nd if Shockey doesn't come back and he's still on the board. Two young, great pass catching TE's to build around Newton would be smart. Rather have Shockey back and use the 2nd on CB or DT though.

Olsen is a significantly better player. He's strong, fast and tall and still seems like he hasn't hit his full potential yet. Shockey brings a very special mentality to the lockerroom and field, and it's a very similar mentality to Cam/Smith/Rivera. We need more of these guys on the team, despite how much they can actually produce on the field. Football still is all about playing as a team so I hope shockey comes back, hes one hell of teammate.

"significantly better" is such a stretch, I question whether or not we were watching the same games. Shockey was better as a blocker, and he was just as good if not better than Olsen as a receiver. The question isn't "Shockey or Olsen?". It's whether or not you want two good tight ends in a TE-heavy system, or one good one and Gary 12 catches in 3 seasons Barnidge. If we can't sign him, then oh well, but I would want Shockey back.

I would say Shockey was better for us last season. Olsen fizzle a bit.

It clearly to me sounds like Davis is talking to him about playing and not retiring.

I just find it hard to believe that a player like Shockey, who I believe has a real passion for the game, would retire at 31. His ego isn't that big

If anything the tweets imply he's going to Dallas, talking about a "decision" mentioning Dallas. TD's response just says he wants Shockey back.

Kind of hope he comes back but wouldn't miss him either after some of the things that have been said in the offseason. Shockey is white trash

My take on Olsen. I was way more excited about having him at the first of the season than I was at the end of the season.
