Time Travel Question

If I was to travel back in time to just before the draft in 2008 and post on the Huddle that in the next two years we'd be able to draft Jon Stewart, Jeff Otah, Dan Conner, Everette Brown and Duke Robinson while also getting a starting FS, a nickle corner, a replacement for Hoover and depth on both lines, all the while keeping Gross, Gamble and Peppers...

...would you accuse me of smoking crack or PCP?

Are you using wormholes to go back in time or a Flux Capacitor?

Either way I think our draft was solid....a lot of heartbreak when you see what I think is a few Best Player Availables and they go a different route. After some reflection I think the weakest pick was Irvin...but then again...I am typing on a message board and not actually scouting.

I don't worry about Brown as a pass rusher. He's prob. the most advanced pass rusher coming out of college we've ever drafted.

I worry about Brown as a everydown DE in the 4-3. If we didn't have Meeks, I'd be petrified.

McClover didn't have .00001 % of the pass rush talent Brown does.

    • 100%. He's a serviceable starter but not a shut down CB by any means. Not too bad for $5.25M /year.
    • Crap on a cracker! I didn't see that from the original video. That's nasty.
    • It is like he just can’t be bothered with that stuff.    But seriously, rebuilding your entire physical operating procedure is so difficult that very few can do it. You have to get it in you so deep that you don’t think about it. Most people fall back to their comfort zone at the biggest moments. Because it worked for them up until ‘now’ and they don’t have to think about it.  You would think people would know this but here we are.  His so obviously wack unorthodox mechanics screamed to me that a rebuild would be necessary and that the single biggest reason I was so opposed to taking him.  It plays out all the time. He is in and out of what Canales tried to train him to do. That’s what the emphasis on 1 2 3 plant throw was about last offseason, as much as it was about getting the ball out quicker. But it is all connected.  You just can’t get the ball out that fast with his old routine, slows you down.
