Odds Hurney Goes Crazy

I can see him parting with next years first and us drafting 2 first round picks. NOT saying I endorse it.....just got that feeling. People will be trying desperately to get rid of first rounders this year and Hurney will try to make up for not having a 3rd.

I dont see him trading away future 1st or 2nd round picks. If anything I could see us trading down in the first to pick up a 2nd and then maybe packaging those 2 move back up again. Anyway I just dont see anyway that he will trade future high round picks again. A lot of his reasoning in doing so before was directly related to John Fox.

Who would he exactly be pulling the trigger for?

The only way he would trade up is if it was a pick and player like Stewart. He won't give up multiple picks. When you don't venture into free agency every pick is very valuable.

His track record says otherwise.

He learned under Bobby Beathard, one of the guys that was known as a wheeler and dealer.

When building, and Hurney should have known that we were in that mode for the past 3 seasons, you should only trade back and get more picks, unless a franchise QB slips.

Hurney did not do this, and we are suffereing because of it.

We also used to make forays into free agency in years past. We gave up our first round in 2009 and 2010 and what happened? We lost first rounders which we could have used to get great players. We traded up for Otah and Brown and a second for Edwards. Don't you think he learned something from those mistakes???

all for it

what the hell is wrong with getting your 1st rounder a year early?

especially if you don't plan on finishing low enough to get a top ten next year anyway

when you have a run n front of you, you gladly mortgage your 20-something pick

if he does it, then I have a very good idea where his head is concerning our potential this year

players and coaches can blow "SB or bust" smoke all they want. If Marty does this, he is putting his money where his mouth is

I certainly fuging hope so. I have very little faith in our GM. However, I hope you are right, and he learned from his F up's.

If I were as bad at my job as Hurney is at his, well, let's just say I would have a lot more time on my hands.

    • I knew very little about this player before we drafted him. When I read scouting reports about him I understood the pick and thought it made sense as a late round receiver with speed and special teams ability but after watching him more closely and now adding his interviews into the equation I'm actually really excited about him. I know it's just RMC but I noticed him running his routes with this extra step that really stood out to me during the general video posted earlier without realizing who it was doing that.  His speed in his first cut is just on another level and it's visible. When I saw it I was **** whoa, who was that?! Then I saw Horn JR. and my first thought was oh it's him. I think it's very possible that he was under appreciated going into the draft due to his height and stats because he played at Colorado where the attention was on 2 other players but I think this dude's ceiling is way higher than most think it is. Especially after watching his interview. He looks hungry. I may have found my fav rook for this year's pre-season. I like pulling for underdogs anyway and as someone who played on the small side myself it just gives me more reason to cheer for him. The competition at WR looks like it's going to be fierce this season. I honestly can remember any preseason where I looked at out wr group and got past 3 players who I thought were interesting but this season I'm interested in at least 5 who have my attention going into the season.
    • Wilson should be getting called for at least 3 penalties a night even in the post season. How does he not lead the NHL in PM???
