HAH! They coulda had Coples or Ingram or Jones but took Irvin. Some guy just won a lot of $50 bets... shocker of the draft. Two years in a row now, Seahawks are making a habit of extreme reaches in the 1st.

yeah i was suprised a little by this pick, but then again, maybe they saw something we didnt in him

This isnt a reach. Dude is a FREAK of a OLB prospect. One of the best pass rushers in the draft with some crazy speed.

If this dudes learns how to play OLB he is gonna be a straight BEAST!

If we had ended up trading down around there and took Bruce freaking Irvin, with Coples, Ingram, Jones still on the board I would have had to get a new chair because I would have literally shat myself. Despite my disappointment with our pick at #9 at the time, I've been able to talk myself into it, at least Luke's a good football player not just a good athlete. Irvin at #15 would have made Al Davis go "damn, that was a reach."

  • 2 weeks later...

Irvin was my favorite player for the second round so Irvin 15 th is a surprise, a DE/OLB running as fast as a CB is something rare.

He could be one of the most powerfull and fast player for his size.

Btw a player like Irvin can certainly play SSS Super strong safety.

.

at 2.40 Irvin sack both the Tackle and the QB. :o

I will keep an eye on the Seahawks because they have drafted 2 of my favorite players of the 2012 draft, Irvin and Howard.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
